Even though the Golden State Warriors landed a couple of top-notch prospects in the NBA Draft, some of the fans were far from satisfied, as they feel like they’re not trying to make the most of Stephen Curry’s prime.

For those fans, the team would’ve been better off just trading away the picks to land a player that could help them win now. Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green aren’t getting any younger and they need another star next to them.

That’s why they could try and make a run at Philadelphia 76ers’ Ben Simmons, who’s reportedly interested in being traded to the Warriors and has cut off all communications with his team.

Warriors Need To Make A Huge Offer For Simmons

Nonetheless, the only way the Warriors could make it happen is by making an offer they’re unlikely to make. Not only because Joe Lacob and Bob Myers trust their young players but also because the price is way too steep.

“The Warriors potentially could save a few future first-round picks if it packaged one of, or both of its selections from this year's NBA draft, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody,” reported Alex Didion of NBC Sports. “Both nearly were universally considered to be top-10 players in this year's class, and would be much more valuable than future picks that likely would end up in the mid-to-late 20s of the first round.

“The only player the Warriors likely would be willing to give up that is in the realm of being an All-Star is Andrew Wiggins, who would have to be included solely to make Simmons' lofty $33 million cap figure fit with the league's largest payroll,” the report concluded.

So, to recap. The Warriors could still get Ben Simmons and enter win-now mode with a Big 4. His versatility as a playmaker and defender makes him a nice fit for Steve Kerr’s system. Then again, that’s unlikely to happen unless Daryl Morey takes that asking price down a notch.
