After several seasons adrift, the Las Vegas Raiders are looking to rise again. With Pete Carroll now at the helm and Tom Brady stepping in as part of the new leadership group, the goal is clear: turn the team into a true title contender starting Week 1.

Brock Bowers joined the team last season and has steadily emerged as one of the key pieces in the Raiders’ offense. Touted as one of the league’s next dominant tight ends, the former Georgia Bulldog senses that something is changing in Las Vegas.

During a recent appearance on ‘Bussin’ With the Boys,’ Bowers spoke about this new chapter for the franchise and how Pete Carroll is implementing his philosophy — one the team believes can lead to big results.

“Oh, he’s been awesome. He brings the juice — yeah, he’s awesome,” he said. “I mean, we’re having shoot-offs in the team room, like during team meetings and everything. And at practice, out there on the ground wrestling dudes — it’s pretty funny. They brought the hamster ball out. Yeah, that was pretty funny.”

I feel like Coach Carroll’s doing a really good job of kind of pulling everyone together and getting everyone more involved with the team. His big theme is competition, so like every day after practice, they’ll be doing a tip drill — like a basketball tip-off, bringing two dudes out. So, it’s always fun.”

The differences between Antonio Pierce and Pete Carroll

Pete Carroll’s arrival in Las Vegas this season signals that things didn’t go as planned under Antonio Pierce’s leadership last year. Bowers, who played his rookie season under the former coach, opened up about the key differences between the two.

“They’re pretty different, I’d say. AP was awesome. He was a true players coach. He was always working with us and everything,” Bowers said. But Coach Carroll has a way of bringing everyone together.”

The goal of turning around last season’s disappointing 4–13 record led to the arrival of former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll — a Super Bowl champion who now dreams of lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy once again.
