Riley Nash, a former teammate of Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2021 during the NHL playoffs, officially announced his retirement from hockey.
Nash was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and later played for several teams, including the Hurricanes, Boston Bruins, Columbus Blue Jackets, Winnipeg Jets, Lightning, Arizona Coyotes, and the New York Rangers.
Throughout his NHL career, Riley Nash recorded 63 goals and 113 assists. In total, the veteran forward from Consort, Alberta, played in 628 regular-season games and 42 playoff games.

Riley Nash recently retired from the NHL and, during an interview with Castanet in British Columbia, the former Leafs player explained how he made the decision to say goodbye.
“It’s definitely something weird to say and it hasn’t really sunk in yet, even though I basically had all of last year away from the rink, but this year will still be weird. This is all I’ve done and focused on for the past 30 years, but now is the time to end this chapter and look at what’s next. With three wonderful young kids and the way my body has behaved over the past few years, it was time to take a step back as an older guy and let others chase their dream the same way I did.”
