<p>“<em>When you look at the championships the Penguins have won while they’ve been here, <strong>their fingerprints are all over it</strong>,” </em>Mike Sullivan said, via <em>Sportsnet</em>. “<em>When you win Stanley Cups, it has a way of galvanizing relationships.<strong> I think Malkin has had a really strong start to the season</strong>. When he’s at his best, the puck seems to follow him around and that’s what he’s doing right now.”</em></p>



<p>During the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/pittsburgh-penguins">Penguins</a> 6-5 win over the Buffalo Sabres, Crosby recorded a goal and two assists, <strong>surpassing the 1,600 points mark</strong>. In his 20th NHL season, Crosby is the 10th player and the only one active with at least 1,600 points. Malkin joined the party and <strong>scored his 500th goal</strong>. <p>Malkin, on the other hand, showed his emotion after his feat and confessed it had been in the back of his head for a long time. <em>“I really wanted to score (the 500th goal) last year,” </em>Malkin commented<em>. “<strong>All summer, I was probably thinking too much about it. </strong>It was a long way to 500 and I’m glad to finally do it.</em> <em><strong>We probably deserved to share this night together. He gets a shutout in game one and he’s allowed one goal in the next two games. Following the intense clashes with the Cats, Bruins star David Pastrnak had a strong message for another forward on the team.</p>



<p><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/boston-bruins">Boston</a> faced Florida twice in a span of six days, dropping both games to the Panthers. The first loss came on NHL’s Opening Night, <strong>where the Panthers rubbed salt in the wounds by forcing the Bruins to witness their Stanley Cup banner ceremony</strong>. Once the puck dropped, Florida dominated, skating to a 6-4 victory. Boston tried to shift the momentum by instigating fights, but their efforts fell short.</p>

Greer hit him on the numbers and sent ‘Pasta’ head-first into the boards. Boston’s superstar had no time to react to the hit, teammate <strong>Pavel Zacha dropped the gloves and squared off against Greer</strong>. <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/david-pastrnak">Pastrnak</a> was grateful for his teammate’s having his back.</p>

<h2>Heavyweights Showdown at TD Garden</h2>



<p>The second game between the Bruins and Panthers did not disappoint. The Calder Trophy winner has confirmed that the buzz around him is deserved, and he has transitioned to the highest level with no signs of regression.</p>

<h2>Bedard sets himself and Blackhawks to high-standard</h2>



<p>The Chicago Blackhawks organization is currently in the early stages of a rebuild. Following their success in the 2010s, <strong>the Hawks have closed down the curtain on those glory days</strong> and are now looking to start from scratch after years of lingering in No Man’s Land. </p>



<p>Chicago is confident Bedard will be the franchise’s cornerstone and fans in Windy City are thrilled to have him in for the long ride. However, <strong>the talented 19-year old is not settling for mediocrity</strong> and is already a leader in a team filled with veterans.</p>



<p><em>“In<strong> the end, it’s about how many games you win, and only getting one is not great</strong>,” </em>Connor Bedard said<em>. “You can take positives from what we did. We had a chance in every game, which is great, but <strong>in the end it doesn’t really matter. It’s about the two points</strong>.”</em></p>



<p>Through the first four games of the season, <strong>Bedard has tallied one goal, four assissts (leads the team), and +/- 2.</strong> During his rookie year, Bedard finished with 61 points (22 goals and 39 assists) through 68 games.</p>

<p>As a show of solidarity, both the Blue Jackets and Panthers warmed up wearing jerseys emblazoned with Gaudreau’s number 13. The arena was filled with friends and family, including Johnny’s widow, Meredith, and his brother-in-law, Eddie, who carried Gaudreau’s children, Noa and Johnny, to center ice for the emotional moment.</p>

<p>This is not unfamiliar territory for the Oilers, as last season <strong>Kris Knoblauch</strong> came in as coach after the team began the campaign 3-9-1. The rest is history, as the club would eventually reach the Stanley Cup finals and lose the series in the final game to the <strong>Florida Panthers</strong>.</p>



<h2>Kris Knoblauch on Edmonton Oilers’ Poor Start to NHL Season</h2>



<p>Kris Knoblauch told the media after his team’s latest defeat, <em>“When I got here, one of the things I noticed, obviously, was the frustration,” recalling how things were when he arrived last season. “It’s only three games in. But that frustration, definitely it’s there — but not at the point that it was when I came here. But obviously, we have to correct what’s going on right now.”</em></p>



<p>Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid have gone cold to start the season; worse yet, the team is giving up a lot of goals per game, no less than four in all three matches so far.</p>



<p><em>“We’re getting beat in a lot of battles; we’re getting beat in a lot of different ways,” </em>said Connor McDavid, assessing the situation. <em>“The puck play has been bad all over. Guys have been fumbling it, guys not handling it. Passes in the air, passes behind guys — it’s just not good enough in terms of the puck play.”</em></p>

<p>“<em>Obviously, we have to play with more desperation,”</em> Knoblauch added, while Corey Perry poured cold water on the situation. <em>“It’s a new season. There are new guys. Guys left… It’s not the same team, and we have to figure out how we want to play, the style we want to play. Right now, it’s 6-0 the first game, and then we give up another five in this game. That’s not the recipe.”</em></p>

<p>Focus is now on Alexis Lafreniere, who, at his young age, has already given the Rangers four full seasons with 76 goals and 74 assists in 299 games for a total of 150 points. The deal would also raise his salary significantly as well as keep him at the club for a long period of time.</p>



<h2>Alexis Lafreniere to Get $8M a Year Mega Deal from NY Rangers<br></h2>



<p>According to Frank Seravalli, the Rangers are willing to offer Lafreniere an 8-year deal worth $8 million per season. It would give the franchise player a significant salary bump as well as help the club secure one of their best players for nearly a decade. </p>



<p>Last season, Alexis Lafreniere had a career year with 28 goals and 29 assists for 57 points in 82 games. </p>

<p>“<em><strong>We think we are ready to play, but we need to play better</strong></em>,” Malkin commented after the game. <em>“I mean, <strong>that was a real game, not exhibition</strong>. It’s a tough loss and I hope tomorrow we play better. Long season. Stay together, it is the only way.”</em></p>

Sheldon Keefe sent a clear message to his former organization, the <strong>Toronto Maple Leafs</strong>, and roster now captained by <strong>Auston Matthews</strong>.</p>



<p><strong>The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/toronto-maple-leafs">Maple Leafs</a> were never able to get over the hump with Keefe at the helm,</strong> despite relative ease to cruise through the regular season, come playoffs time the team’s wheels came off and <strong>their core of Auston Matthews, John Tavares, Mitch Marner, and William Nylander</strong> was often looked at. However, <strong>the four key players remain in Toronto, instead the GM and HC received the boot</strong>.</p>



<p>Under new head coach Sheldon Keefe, the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/new-jersey-devils">Devils</a> won their first two regular season games in their international series at Czechia. Ahead of the Devils’ debut on American soil,<strong> head coach Keefe sent a clear message to his former organization, now opponents.</strong></p>

<h2>Maple Leafs’ scoring streak ends</h2>



<p>The Maple Leafs opened their season at the Montreal Canadiens with a 1-0 loss. Toronto’s offense failed to score on their opener against their historic archnemesis and the conversation around the core players resumed. <strong>Throughout the 2023-24 season, the Leafs were never kept off the scoreboard</strong>. Yet, in their very first game this season, they were shut out by a Canadiens team considered to be inferior..</p>



<p>Such a feat raises the question: Is the team better off without Keefe? <strong>Was firing him the right decision, or was he merely a scapegoat for deeper issues within Toronto’s organization? </strong>While it’s too early to make definitive conclusions about the coaching change, one game into the season, the Leafs have yet to show any significant improvement over previous years.</p>

<p>The <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/new-york-rangers" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">New York Rangers</a></strong> showed no mercy to the Pittsburgh Penguins in their opening game of the NHL season, hammering them 6-0. The game was 3-0 after the first period, and despite 29 saves from Igor Shesterkin, the result never seemed in doubt. </p>



<p>Every one of the Rangers’ main players contributed to the game, with <strong>Chris Kreider </strong>scoring twice, <strong>Alexis Lafreniere</strong> adding a goal and an assist, while <strong>Artemi Panarin and Jacob Trouba</strong> both recorded two assists. </p>



<p>For the Rangers, it was a clear message to the rest of the <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nhl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NHL</a></strong> that they won’t be taken lightly this season, especially after being out-hustled and physically outplayed by the eventual champions, the Florida Panthers last season in the playoffs. </p>



<h2>New York Rangers looking sharp in opening game of NHL season</h2>



<p><em>“It takes every single guy pulling in the right direction to be successful as a team,” </em>Chris Kreider said after the game to the media. <em>“Some guys are going to have big nights occasionally, but it takes everyone playing the right way, pulling in the same direction to ultimately accomplish our goals.”</em> </p>

<p>The team-first mentality could be huge for the Rangers, who boast a strong roster of talented hockey players functioning well as a unit under one of the best coaches in the league, Peter Laviolette. </p>



<p>While some naysayers may point out it’s only one game and that the Rangers still need to face better teams in the league, it was a major performance from a team that had the best record in the regular season last year but at times wilted due to fatigue in the playoffs—something they want to shed.</p>



<h2>Igor Shesterkin Contract Talks</h2>



<p>Despite reportedly turning down the highest contract ever offered to an NHL goalie, Igor Shesterkin remained focused on the team’s success, opting not to discuss his contract situation after the win. </p>
