Atletico Madrid have had to deal with coming from behind in Spanish soccer. With Barcelona and Real Madrid as the dominant sides, the Colchoneros got used to competing against everything and everyone, which is why their good work earned them worldwide recognition.

A club that has always had a loyal fanbase, it has been the third force in the country behind the two giants, and it learned how to grow and keep up with those rivals' level. In the last years, we've seen an Atleti that strengthened themselves and fought back against the Merengues and Cules.

Even though they haven't succeeded as much as their city rivals nor the Catalans, Atletico Madrid have always been the ones who got closer to the pair's kingdom and threatened to end it in many seasons. Here, let's take a look at all their titles.

Atletico Madrid honors

The Colchoneros learned how to fight in a league where only two sides looked capable of winning year after year, and have also proved to be a tough opponent for anyone in the continent.

Atletico Madrid have won 32 trophies in history. They are the third-winningest team in the Spanish first division with 11 league titles, only behind Barcelona's 26 and Real Madrid's 34. The latest one was the La Liga 2020/2021 title, after beating Real Valladolid 2-1 in the final round to secure the trophy. It was the first league title for the club since the 2014 championship, when club idol Diego Simeone led them to glory ending an 18-year drought.

However, they have also tasted continental glory. Despite they came up short in the three Champions League finals they've played, Atletico claimed three Europa League triumphs plus other European prizes.
