Reaves has the potential to become a solid defender and has reportedly made great strides on his offense as well. He’s on a team-friendly deal, so there’s no need to include him in any potential trade.

The Lakers weren’t trying to essentially part with THT for Theis in that expanded trade package discussion after already having reservations about moving two first-round picks to get off Westbrook’s contract. In talking with people around the league, anybody that’s taking on Westbrook wants both of those first-round picks.”

All jokes aside, every basketball fan would love to have LeBron on his team, regardless of if he’s not that easy to coach. He’s an undisputed top-5 player of all time and a proven winner at every level.

Just like anyone who read herstatement, Amick couldn’t believe shesaid that Westbrook was the best Laker of the season. When he later reached out, Buss clarified that what she meant was that Westbrook was their most consistent player. His availability throughout the season may have been undervalued by most fans, but not by Buss.
“Yes, as you might imagine, I did a double take when Jeanie shared her viewpoint that Westbrook was the best the Lakers had to offer last season. By most accounts — yours truly included — his debut season with the Lakers was an unmitigated disaster,” Amick wrote.

However, Jovan Buha of The Athletic claims the Lakers have no interest in bringing Randle back and therefore taking his lucrative contract. He is set to make $117m over the next four seasons – although the final year is a $29.4m player option.
“Charlotte, New York and San Antonio also present trade options, though any deal with them appears unlikely as of now for various reasons,” Buha wrote. “The Hornets’ future is muddied with restricted free agent Miles Bridges facing felony domestic violence and child abuse charges. Trading for Westbrook doesn’t necessarily improve their chances of making the Play-In tournament.
“The Lakers aren’t interested in taking back Julius Randle from the Knicks, considering his contract (three years plus a player option on the fourth year) and less-than-ideal fit with Davis and James. The Spurs don’t have much to offer aside from absorbing Westbrook’s contract, which is certainly beneficial for the Lakers, but not at the cost of two first-round picks.”
