This means the rookies Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike should step up. Ayomanor has, leading the team in yards with 151, which is not great, but his leading the team nevertheless.

Callahan is not able to move the chains and he was supposed to be an offensive guru. His clock management is not good, the play designs are not creating openings and the team is not even close to winning games. The Titans front office must be carefully monitoring Callahan’s job.

Ross was activated for the loss against the Jaguars; while he did not record a single tackle, he was available in an emergency capacity. Last season, he logged a career-high 13 tackles, putting him at a good tempo heading into this year.

Offensively, we have to stay on schedule. We have yet to do that. And the more we continue to stay on schedule, we’ll just continue to be good drives for us. Every time we don’t stay on schedule, it’s always a bad drive. So, just continue to get better, up front locking in, myself locking in, and receivers and running backs locking in.”

According to the Titans website, they agreed terms on the a contract extension with safety Amani Hooker. Hooker’s agent Jack Bechta told reporters the deal is a three-year extension worth $48.6 million with $29 million guaranteed. 



Hooker was a fourth-round pick back in 2019. He spent two seasons as a backup, but he has turned into a solid player, starting every game (barring injuries) over the last four seasons. He has 335 tackles, 12 interceptions, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his career.



<h2>Amani Hooker is the only healthy strong safety on the team</h2>



Not only is this a good extension, given the fact that Hooker has proved himself, but the other strong safety on the roster is Kevin Winston Jr., who is injured with a knee issue and won’t be ready for the start of the season. This means Hooker will be a workhorse for the moment.

Last season, Hooker was stellar with five picks in a very underrated secondary. He played 96% of the defensive snaps available. He was, indeed, one of the most constant players for this defense.

Being in the Titans has driven the spotlight away from Ridley. However, his numbers are very good. Ridley has posted two 1,000-yard seasons back to back and has scored 12 touchdowns in the past couple of years. The guy is a menace.

<h2>Who else is poised for a big season on the Titans offense?</h2>



Besides Ridley, there are a couple of names that are destined to be of great help for this offense. Tennessee also brought veteran wideouts Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson. Lockett, specifically, should thrive in the intermediate level of the field.



Not to mention, they have a very good running back in Tony Pollard. He is a dual threat as Pollard also knows how to create damage from his pass-catching ability. Pollard ended 2024 with 1317 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns.

It also needs to be mentioned that Ward did throw a dart to receiver Van Jefferson that got badly dropped. If completed, it would’ve been a touchdown. It was a great pass by Ward.



<h2>Callahan needs Ward to work</h2>



Callahan is entering his second season as the Titans head coach but his first one left much to be desired. Yes, his quarterback was Will Levis and that didn’t help, but even on situational football, the team looked really bad.

Callahan was supposed to bring new life on the post-Mike Vrabel era. He was an offensive minded coach that was bringing creativity into the playbook. However, that didn’t show. If he fails to impress with Ward under center, his seat might be in jeopardy.

Every single quarterback taken first overall is under huge amounts of pressure. However, Ward’s mentality and the fact that he was taken as the first pick on a weak draft class are pressuring the rookie. Ward has an unapologetic attitude which is great, but it’s also a double-edged sword. If he doesn’t deliver, it can come back to hunt him.



He also has some good weapons around him so he doesn’t have to play hero ball to get results. What Ward has to do is go through his progressions and find the best target possible.
