Angel Reese may still be sidelined from the court, but sheās stepping into the spotlight in a different way. The Chicago Sky star confirmed Thursday that her first-ever signature sneaker with Reebok will officially hit stores next month.
The No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft signed a multi-year contract extension with Reebok after her rookie season, which included the promise of a signature shoe. Now, that promise is about to become reality.
The debut model, named the Reebok Angel Reese 1, will launch in the āDiamond Dustā colorway. Fans wonāt have to wait much longer as the sneakers will drop on September 18. āSeptember 18th. AR1ās coming to a store near YOU,ā Reese wrote on X, adding more hype to the announcement.
Back when she first announced her signature shoe, she said that it has āalways been a dreamā of hers, and she wanted āall the young girls out there to remember that anything is possible.ā
This makes Reese one of just a handful of WNBA players to ever receive a signature sneaker, alongside other stars such as Sabrina Ionescu, AāJa Wilson, and Breanna Stewart. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark is also in the process of designing her signature shoe with Nike.

Before her injury, Reese was in the middle of a dominant sophomore campaign. She averaged 14.2 points, 12.6 rebounds (still leading the entire league) along with 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Her presence in the paint was a major factor for the Sky, who are just 1-8 without her in the lineup. Overall, the team is 8-24, facing long odds of securing a playoff spot. However, the forward has been dealing with a back injury since the All-Star break, limiting her to only two appearances since play resumed.
Sky head coach Tyler Marsh provided a recent update ahead of Chicagoās win over the Washington Mystics, though it didnāt come with much clarity. āItās the back injury and she continues to be day-to-day ⦠I think sheās progressing but still kind of wait and see,ā Marsh said.
While thereās no āconcrete timetableā for her return, Reeseās latest sneaker announcement gives fans something to circle on their calendars ā even if itās not yet a game date.
