Daryl Morey left Houston at the end of last season but it didn’t take long for him to find a new job. The Philadelphia 76ers mightily struggled last season and that led the front office to make some big changes, including the firing of Brett Brown.

Now Morey is the new president of basketball operations, Doc Rivers is the new head coach of the team but Philly is still getting used to all the changes happening and the new staff they have for this NBA campaign.

A lot has been said about the future of Ben Simmons with the franchise, especially with rumors suggesting James Harden is interested in joining the Sixers and Morey wouldn’t see with bad eyes reuniting with his former superstar in Houston. Simmons has been named as part of a package that would get Harden to Philadelphia but nothing has been done yet.

Daryl Morey’s recent social media activity suggest Ben Simmons isn’t going anywhere

Well, as much as some fans would like to see this move, it doesn’t seem like Morey is actually going to pull the trigger on that and send Simmons to Houston in exchange for Harden, who keeps demonstrating he’s one of the best players in the league.

Recently, ESPN’s Alan Hahn sent a tweet explaining that giving up Ben Simmons would be something weird to do for the Sixers. Morey saw the tweet and he liked it, indirectly explaining what his stance on Simmons is right now.

This could mean absolutely nothing, too, but Morey has expressed in the past he’s not thinking of parting with any of his two stars, Simmons and Joel Embiid. The Sixers have to demonstrate they can compete with JoJo and Simmons showing the way or Morey would be forced to separate them.

However, a lot of things need to happen before we see that and the league only started six days ago. Simmons is focused on helping his team and until he’s not sent to a different franchise, that’s exactly what he’ll keep doing as long as he stays in Philadelphia.
