You could argue that the Brooklyn Nets are the most overpowered NBA team we've seen in years and you wouldn't be wrong. I mean, even if LaMarcus Aldridge and Blake Griffin aren't the superstars they used to be, adding them at a discount for bench depth just seems unfair.

We're talking about a team that has won 20 of their past 23 games, that's currently the number 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, and that hasn't had Kevin Durant on the court for 22 of those 23 matchups.

But you know what they say: the rich get richer. And the Brooklyn Nets aren't done making moves just yet and will stay active in the buyout market. That's why today, we'll discuss the top-3 buyout candidates to join them.

NBA Rumors: The Most Likely Players To Sign With The Brooklyn Nets

3. Avery Bradley

Avery Bradley has struggled to be in his best shape over the past couple of seasons. Then again, he's still one of the most versatile backcourt defenders in the league, and the defense is the Nets' lone concern at this point in the season.

The Houston Rockets are rebuilding and Bradley would be better off giving up some money to join a championship contender. He could give them a big boost off the bench as a 3-and-D kind of guy and even close out games next to James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant.

2. Hassan Whiteside

It's been a while since people thought of Hassan Whiteside as a good defender but you can't deny that he's still one of the best rim protectors in the league and a huge upgrade over this version of DeAndre Jordan.

It's clear that Whiteside isn't a part of the Sacramento Kings' plans going forward as he's been in and out of their rotation. Should he be bought out, he'd give them a much-needed interior presence, and playing for a contender could bring out the best of him once and for all.

1. Otto Porter Jr

And last, but not least, Otto Porter Jr would be the best choice to fill that final roster spot, and it's not even close. He has everything they need right now as a versatile defender who can switch into bigger players and knock down shots from deep.

Porter Jr recently joined the Orlando Magic via trade but with them hitting the rebuild button, he's not likely to be around for much, especially with his huge contract. He's a great wing defender and a reliable three-point shooter, so he'll be on plenty of contenders' shortlist.
