Well, heās done it again. Aaron Rodgers once again proved to be a baaaad man, breaking the hearts of thousands of San Francisco 49ersā fans hearts with an epic game-winning drive on Sunday Night Football.
The 49ers capped off a great second half by scoring a go-ahead touchdown in the final minute of the game. The only problem? They left 37 seconds on the clock for Aaron Charles Rodgers.
As per usual ā and regardless of the fact that he had no timeouts left, Rodgers led the Packersā offense down the field and set up Mason Crosby for a 51-yard field goal. Final score: Packers 30-28 49ers.
49ers Players React To Aaron Rodgersā Epic Game-Winning Drive:
You just canāt leave a second on the clock if Aaron Rodgers is on the other side of the field. The outcome was unsurprising, and thatās why George Kittle, Trey Lance, and Jimmie Ward had no choice but to tip their hats off to the legendary quarterback:
āIf thereās too much time on the clock, there always is with Aaron Rodgers. I donāt have any worries when our defense is on the field. Itās Aaron Rodgers, Adams, play makers, and did what they had to do to win,ā Kittle said, as quoted by The Mercury News.
āI had a lot of confidence in our defense and will continue to. Heās special and has led some big plays,ā said Lance.
āShout out to them. They made plays. Adams made plays. Aaron Rodgers was being Aaron Rodgers. Shout out to their coach, too,ā added Ward.
Matt LaFleur Says Thereās No Beef With Kyle Shanahan
One of the biggest stories of the game also happened on the sidelines. Lifelong friends and colleagues Matt LaFleur and Kyle Shanahan reportedly grew apart from each other this offseason as the 49ers tried to lure Rodgers away. Nonetheless, LaFleur says theyāre cool:
āKyleās a great friend of mine,ā LaFleur told Sports Illustrated. āAbsolutely, I hold no ill will towards him. I understand. Heās trying to do whatever he thinks he needs to do for his football team. Heās got a responsibility to everybody in that organization, and if thereās an opportunity, I donāt hold that against him. So, yeah, that will have no effect on our relationship.ā
Whether thatās true or not is not for us to say, but you could definitely tell that last nightās game was personal for⦠pretty much everybody involved. Thatās why thereās nothing better than Sunday Night Football.
