The Pittsburgh Steelers are navigating a crucial moment in the NFL season, with the final stretch of the regular season approaching and positive results becoming imperative. Aaron Rodgers finished his last game with fractured wrist, prompting Mike Tomlin to comment on his availability for the matchup against the Chicago Bears.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, via his official X account (formerly Twitter), the head coach confirmed that his QB1 will not require surgery. However, they will continue to monitor his condition ahead of the weekend.

“Mike Tomlin confirms Aaron Rodgers won’t need wrist surgery, but won’t know until later in the week if Rodgers can play. ‘Really it’s just about bracing it and securing it for his comfort and safety, and then it’s about how functional he is.’ Friday will be a big day,” the insider stated via @TomPelissero.

Awaiting his swift recovery, the Steelers will need Rodgers on the field at Soldier Field to face one of the top contenders in the National Conference. If he’s unable to play, his primary backup, Mason Rudolph, will step in.

Initial X-rays reportedly showed a small fracture, leading to widespread concern about the veteran’s availability for the upcoming schedule. While the fracture is on his non-throwing hand and reports indicate he will not need surgery, the severity of the issue remains a day-to-day concern that will be managed through further testing. Backup Mason Rudolph stepped in to lead the Steelers to the win, but the team’s immediate outlook now hinges on the four-time MVP’s recovery timetable.
