Aaron Rodgers has shown that, at least through the first month of the NFL season, he wasnât the problem with the New York Jets. The veteran quarterback has led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 3-1 record, while his former team faces another crisis after starting 0-5.
Additionally, in a scenario few predicted, Rodgers has stayed healthy while other AFC North rivals face major quarterback issues, such as the Bengals (Joe Burrow) and the Ravens (Lamar Jackson).
As a result, the Steelers have opened a significant gap in the division standings, which they could extend this Sunday if they defeat Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns. A massive opportunity following their bye week.
What happened with Aaron Rodgersâ helmet?
At the start of Steelers practices following their bye week, Ed Thompson reported that Aaron Rodgers would finally be trying out a new helmet after his previous one, which he was forced to use due to the NFLâs new regulations, wasnât comfortable for him.
âLooks like a new and improved helmet for Steelers QB, Aaron Rodgers. Aaron had said he did not like the previous helmet. Said it was âugly tooâ. Today at practice, the first practice back after the bye week, it appears he has a new VICIS Pro helmet. Looks like their âZero2 QB Elite Helmetâ. One of their newer helmets.â

However, after several practices, Rodgers confirmed that, despite trying out a few options, he has ultimately decided not to switch helmets. A move that could impact his performance in the upcoming weeks. âNo. Iâm just trying out different things, but, Iâll probably go back to my original helmet.â
