Matthew Stafford is one of the men of the hour in the NFL after he and his team, Detroit Lions, agreed to part ways this offseason. He’s been allowed to seek a trade and there are several teams interested in the talented player.

The veteran quarterback can and will have a good market during the NFL offseason and even now we’re learning that some teams are very interested in acquiring his services for the next season.

The 2014 Pro-Bowler was never able to lead the Lions to the promised land in the NFC and while some blamed him for his poor performances, others say he didn’t have the right staff to actually compete in the league. That could change if he finds a competitive franchise that believes in him.

Indianapolis Colts could land Matthew Stafford

Stafford is ready to continue his NFL career somewhere else and according to reports, he has placed his eyes on one specific team that recently lost his quarterback, the Indianapolis Colts. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the player has identified the Colts as his favorite destination and the team is reportedly interested in landing him, too.

“Makes a lot of sense, which is why the Colts will really look into making this work,” said one NFL executive about Stafford’s chances of landing in Indianapolis, per Fowler.

Indy recently lost Philip Rivers, who was their starting quarterback this past season. The veteran quarterback led his team to the 2021 NFL Wildcard Round but he couldn’t get past the Buffalo Bills.

Rivers decided to call it a career a couple of days ago and now Indianapolis is trying to find a new QB. They were linked with Sam Darnold recently but given the Jets’ reportedly unwillingness to deal their quarterback this offseason, Stafford could be a pretty good option for them. He can bring some quality to a team that is competing in the AFC and they need a new quarterback to reach the next level. Stafford could their answer.
