The Jacksonville Jaguars are eagerly awaiting the start of a new NFL season, one in which they’ve placed high expectations. Even more so following the arrival of Travis Hunter, one of the top prospects from the latest draft, who is expected to build strong chemistry with Trevor Lawrence in the offense.
Why do we highlight the offense? Because the former Colorado Buffaloes star is now expected to play both as a wide receiver and as a cornerback — something that had previously remained uncertain.
This versatility has impressed both insiders and outsiders, and according to Lawrence himself, Hunter will be able to handle it just fine — as long as he puts in the hard work to make it happen.
“Travis has been great — just his work ethic, how he’s come in,” Lawrence said, via Jamal St. Cyr of WJXT. “He’s been one of the hardest-working guys we have. I think it’s commitment to learning the playbook and trying to learn the two systems.
“It’s a lot on a rookie, it’s challenging to learn everything and he’s done a nice job. We still have work to do and we’re going to get a lot done in training camp and get us ready to play come September. I’m really excited for him and how he can help our team.”

Where will Travis Hunter play?
Travis Hunter is poised for a versatile two-way role with the Jacksonville Jaguars, as indicated by coach Liam Coen and he is expected to contribute at both wide receiver and cornerback.
While he’ll likely see action on both sides of the ball, there’s a strong potential for him to be utilized more heavily on offense. This strategic deployment aims to leverage Hunter’s exceptional athleticism and playmaking skills to their fullest.
The Jaguars’ early challenges
To establish themselves as true contenders in the AFC South, Lawrence and the Jaguars will need to come out strong in their first five games of the upcoming NFL season.
