Bronny James made six appearances in the Summer League that took place in Las Vegas and also showed up at the California Classic. LeBron’s eldest son averaged 7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1 steal while shooting 32.7 of his field goals, with 13 percent shooting from beyond the arc and 62.5 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

Since we’re talking about the son of one of, if not the greatest player of all time, all eyes have been on Bronny during these games, with the player facing early criticism for a slow start before he turned up his game.

The anonymous player added, “I ended up being very frustrated because I was never put in the best situation or even included in some plays or game plans because they wanted Bronny to show his skills and shine.”



“If you talk to any other player that was part of the roster of the California Classic and the Summer League, most of them would tell you the same thing. The tensions were visible, and pretty much we were all thinking about the end of the Summer League to get out of here and focus on our next step in our careers,” continued Bronny’s teammate.

“You know how like, towards the playoffs guys get their rest. But I felt like that’s where we spent most of our energy and time trying to get that first place and playing catch-up. And we get to the playoffs, we have no gas. We felt like the Lakers should have beaten us. We were down every game,” Caldwell-Pope said on the Draymond Green Show. “At least 10 [points], I think the highest may be what, 20-something. Just taking that energy and using it there so it was a lot that went into that season.”



It was a surprising elimination by the Lakers since they led at halftime in every game against the Nuggets and held double-digit leads in three of their four losses. While LA has been quiet this offseason, we shouldn’t rule out new arrivals this year. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/los-angeles-lakers">Lakers</a> could end up getting Washington Wizards center Jonas Valanciunas with the season already underway.



“Do we think Jonas Valanciunas will be an offer from the Wizards midway through the season… I wouldn’t rule out Jonas Valanciunas eventually ending up as a Laker this year,” Windhorst said on The Hoop Collective, via NBA on ESPN. “That’s all I’m gonna say.”



Of course, it would be better if the purple and gold strengthen the squad before the new season gets underway. But still, getting Valanciunas would be great news for <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/lebron-james">LeBron</a> and the Lakers as long as he doesn’t arrive too late in the campaign.

<h2>Report: LeBron James was willing to take pay cut for Valanciunas</h2>



Back in June, with notable free agents still in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba">NBA</a> open market, the Lakers were linked to a number of big names. LeBron was reportedly willing to take a pay cut for only a handful of potential teammates, and Valanciunas was understood to be one of them.

“The type of player that James would be willing to make a financial sacrifice for would be an established veteran playmaker like James Harden or Klay Thompson, or an established big man to play alongside Anthony Davis — like Jonas Valanciunas,” Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported.



Harden ultimately re-signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, whereas Thompson ended up with the Dallas Mavericks. Valanciunas, who spent the last three years with the New Orleans Pelicans, was signed and traded to the Washington Wizards earlier this month.



<h2>JJ Redick believes Lakers need another center</h2>



While the Lakers may not have many playmakers in sight to improve the lineup, they can still help LeBron by adding a center that can benefit Anthony Davis. In fact, new head coach JJ Redick revealed he wants a new face at that position.



“You certainly have to look at what I think is actually a very good roster, a very balanced roster. We’d love to, we tried, but we’d love to, at some point, get another five man, a big bruising five man,” Redick said on Sirius XM NBA Radio. “You look at the Western Conference right now, whether it’s Denver, Minnesota, OKC with what they added, certainly Memphis, they’re going to be back in the hunt, they added Zach Edey, certain matchups in the playoffs, you’re going to need a lot of size.”

The report claims the Toronto Raptors are exploring the market for the veteran swingman, who helped Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets win the 2023 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba">NBA</a> championship, as Brown is entering the final year of his contract at $23 million.



“The Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks are two teams that showed interest in Brown last season, sources said, and Los Angeles maintains interest in him this offseason. One team whispered to have interest in Brown and was quietly mentioned as a possible suitor months ago is the Golden State Warriors,” Siegel wrote.

Wiggins, 29, has been linked with a move away from the Bay area following a disappointing performance in the 2023-24. He avoided being traded in February, but his name continues to be subject of trade rumors this offseason.



Even though his level declined, Wiggins played a pivotal role for Curry and company not long ago, helping the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/golden-state-warriors">Warriors</a> win the NBA championship in 2022. Since the Raptors will probably prefer to trade Brown instead of risking losing him for nothing in 2025, negotiating with the Warriors with Wiggins as compensation could make sense.

I think being that secondary playmaker is kind of where Bronny is at right now.”

“If I was him, I don’t know if that’s a perfect situation,” Embiid said, via David Marchese of the New York Times. “Maybe he thinks that’s a perfect situation. But if you’re coming in, especially with a job like the Lakers, it’s kind of a make-or-break situation, because if you succeed, great, you’re going to be coaching for years. But if you don’t succeed, those coaches are usually bound to be fired within a year or two. I love him, I’m happy for him, but that’s a tough job.”
