<p>The&nbsp;<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/boston-celtics" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank"><strong>Boston Celtics</strong>&nbsp;</a>have a tough decision to make right now. On the one hand, they&nbsp;<strong>could sign&nbsp;<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/jaylen-brown" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Jaylen Brown&nbsp;</a>to a supermax contract extension</strong>. On the other, they could play the waiting game to see what goes on with&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/damian-lillard" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Damian Lillard.</a></strong></p>



<p>But the first issue should be at the top of their agenda right now. Brown played his way into a potential massive extension, and there’s an ongoing debate about&nbsp;<strong>whether he’s worthy of it or not.</strong></p>



<p>Despite<strong>&nbsp;making an All-<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nba" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">NBA</a>&nbsp;team</strong>, Brown has yet to break out as a superstar, and he might never will. That’s why the Celtics’ talks about a supermax extension are currently ‘fragile,’ according to&nbsp;<strong>Brian Windhorst of ESPN.</strong></p>



<h2>Celtics Aren’t Sure About Brown’s Contract Extension</h2>



<p><strong><em>“The sides are talking,”&nbsp;</em></strong>Windhorst said on ESPN.&nbsp;<em><strong>“This is obviously a very important, fragile deal.&nbsp;</strong>I know that there’s interest on both sides to get something done. I would expect it to head in that direction.”</em></p>



<p><em><strong>“I think it will get done, but he’s eligible for up to 35 percent of the salary cap, but he doesn’t have to get that.</strong>&nbsp;The Celtics can negotiate on that. They can negotiate on the player option. They can negotiate on several things,”</em>&nbsp;Windhorst concluded.</p>

<p>The <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/chicago-bulls" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chicago Bulls</a></strong> have already made it clear that they don’t expect to see<strong> PG Lonzo Ball back in an <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nba" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NBA</a> hardwood </strong>any time soon, ruling him out for the whole 2023-24 season.</p>



<p>Ball has undergone <strong>multiple surgeries on his knee,</strong> yet he has made little-to-no progress. He’s still in pain, and it will be a while before he’s ready to partake in basketball activities again, if ever.</p>



<p>That’s why <strong>Arturas Karnisovas </strong>and the Bulls have reportedly applied for a <strong>Designated Player Exception worth $10.2 million, </strong>according to <strong>Shams Charania of The Athletic.</strong></p>



<h2>Bulls Apply For DPE For Lonzo Ball</h2>



<p><em>“Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations Artūras Karnišovas alluded to this being a possibility on draft night,”</em> wrote Charania. <strong><em>“The team’s chief basketball executive ruled out Chicago waiving and stretching Ball’s contract but left the door open for applying the disabled player exception, which is the route the team has taken.”</em></strong></p>



<p><em>“It’s a no-brainer for the Bulls, who also announced on draft night that Ball is expected to miss the entire 2023-24 season,” </em>added Charania.<strong><em> “The exception now gives the capped-out Bulls a tool to sign a player this offseason.”</em></strong></p>



<p>Truth be told, this only confirms that Ball is closer to being medically forced to retire than to suit up ever again. It’s a shame, but the Bulls will look to find ways to <strong>get his salary off their books.</strong></p>

<p>Allen is young and could contribute a lot to other franchises that are already established and are considered contenders for the upcoming season, those would be the perfect teams for him.</p>

<p>According to Marc Stein, the Cavaliers are more interested in trading Jarret Allen than people really think, Stein referred to the player in a recent post on his substack saying:<strong> “…. the Cavaliers are more open to trading Jarrett Allen than advertised for the obvious reasons: He appeared to struggle with the moment at various points of the Cavaliers’ five-game exit to the Knicks.”</strong></p>
