Of course, this works both ways. All teams flop, all stars flop, and the fans have been aware of that for decades. Sometimes, it just happens to benefit their rivals, which is why the coaches try and speak up.
That was the case with <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/golden-state-warriors" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Golden State Warriors</a> coach Steve Kerr, who recently went on a full anti-flopping rantand called out the Los Angeles Lakers for fooling the referees throughout their playoff series.

“I think, to me, what I’ve learned coaching in FIBA — FIBA has a great rule, there’s a flop rule, and if a referee deems that a player has flopped, they just call a technical foul, and it’s pretty penalizing,” Kerr said. “So, the flopping has basically been eliminated from FIBA. We have the ability to do the same thing in the NBA if we want.”
“I think we should address it because the players are so smart and the entire regular season is about gamesmanship and trying to fool the refs, and this is how it’s been for a while,” Kerr added. “So, my personal plea to the NBA (is) I think we can do better, in terms of cleaning up the flopping. In the meantime, I give the Lakers credit for the plays that they’ve been able to sell.”

“We don’t work on flopping,” James said. “That’s not even a part of our game; our game is to attack the paint. We don’t mind physical contact; we actually like the contact and don’t shy away from it. The Dubs have struggled to keep the Lakers off the free-throw line, and that disparity has been a major talking point throughout the series. However, as much as it might all be due to their style of play, other factors might also be involved.



According to Warriors coach <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba/Jordan-Poole-throws-shade-at-Steve-Kerr-Steph-Curry-claps-back-at-him-20230504-0009.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Steve Kerr</a>, the NBA is rewarding Lakers players for flopping, and he went on a full rant to call the league out and urged them to do a better job of keeping the game clean.

Of course, this might all just be another case of a coach trying to put pressure on the referees ahead of a must-win game, as the Warriors have also gotten away with illegal screens for the most part of his tenure in charge of the team.

Poole not only has the support of his coach, but the team leader also got his back. Curry knows what the Michigan productis capable of, and he wants to make sure Poole believes in himself as well.
“We are all extremely confident in what he provides for us,” Curry said about Poole. “What he can do out there and keeping it positive, just how he approach the game and that’s what I love about him. He has great energy and making or missing shots, it’s gonna happen. But the other things that you can do to impact the game, I know he’s been putting a huge effort in that. So it’s just a matter of sticking with it because you’ll get rewarded in the big picture,especially because we do have a lot of confidence in what he provides for us and what he’s capable of doing.”

<h2>Steph Curry Wants His Teammates To Stay Focused</h2>
Notably, this isn’t the first time that this has been an issue. A report by The Athletic states that Stephen Curry had to tell Poole and Jonathan Kuminga to stay in their lanes and do what was best for the team ahead of Game 7 vs. the Sacramento Kings:
“According to multiple sources in the private session, Curry told the team he believed in them, that they had enough to win,” read the report. “He asked for their trust in return. He assured them he could deliver victory if they all bought in.”
“He implored them to put all of their feelings aside — which sources with knowledge of the locker room felt was messaging directed at Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, and other guys who might’ve been unhappy for reasons such as playing time and role — and lock into the unified mission,” the report added. “Anyone who wanted to remain in their emotions, he told them to stay home. Anyone who was ready for their vacation, he told them not to get on the bus for Sacramento.”
