NFL News: Mike Tomlin and Steelers have reportedly been told if trade for star wide receiver is possible after win against Colts

Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers seem to already have a clear picture of the possibilities of trading for Jaylen Waddle.

Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for a star wide receiver to help Aaron Rodgers. The options that have been mentioned in recent weeks are Jakobi Meyers and Chris Olave, but after the Dolphins’ loss to the Ravens, Jaylen Waddle has emerged as a candidate.

However, according to a report from Adam Schefter, it seems that Waddle is unlikely due to the high price it would take to acquire him. “Dolphins would be expected to ask for, in the words of a source, ‘a 1-plus’ in any potential trade for Jaylen Waddle, meaning they believe they would have to receive a first-round draft pick plus other compensation.”

After defeating the best team in the AFC with an explosive offense led by Daniel Jones and Jonathan Taylor, the Steelers’ hopes of winning the Super Bowl have been incredibly revived.

Who are Steelers’ wide receivers?

DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, and Roman Wilson lead the Pittsburgh Steelers’ group of wide receivers. The big problem is that neither of the last two has been able to replace the production of George Pickens who was traded to the Dallas Cowboys.

Therefore, general manager Omar Khan’s ideal scenario is to pair Metcalf with Waddle, or another star receiver like Jakobi Meyers, in an offense led by a legend like Aaron Rodgers.

The problem is that, according to Schefter, the Dolphins’ star does not seem to be a viable option. “Dolphins are willing to listen to offers on any of their players ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, but it is, in the words of one well-placed source, ‘highly unlikely’ that Miami will trade WR Jaylen Waddle.”
