On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers opened their season with a 27-13 victory over the Detroit Lions, a game that carried extra attention due to Micah Parsons’ debut with the Packers. The linebacker produced a moment unlike anything the Lambeau Field crowd had seen before in the NFL.

After the game, head coach Matt LaFleur commented on the reception Parsons received. “It makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck,” LaFleur said, via Michael Silver of The Athletic. “Not that I have any — ’cause I go with this bald fade. But it makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck for sure. That might be the loudest I’ve ever heard our crowd.”

Heading into week one, Parsons’ status had been uncertain due to a back injury, but he played against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field. While he didn’t participate in every snap, the fan response to his presence was electric.

These last six months were super draining, super toxic for everyone,” Parsons said, via The Athletic. “It’s something that I don’t think any player should have to go through… The fact that I was traded a week before the season was really outrageous and rough.

What’s next for the Packers?

Green Bay will next face the Washington Commanders on Thursday night at Lambeau Field in a high-profile primetime matchup. For Parsons, it will also be a reunion against one of his former NFC East rivals from his days with the Cowboys.
