European competition is back this week with the resumption of the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League and the beginning of the Europa League round of 16, which will bring us a number of must-watch games.

While Barcelona - Galatasaray will probably take much of the spotlight, it will also be interesting to keep an eye on Sevilla vs. West Ham. Both teams are doing a great campaign in their respective leagues and it's hard to predict who'll have the upper hand on this one.

The La Liga club might be the winningest team in the tournament but the Hammers have become a tough opponent under David Moyes. Sevilla host the Premier League side on Thursday in a first leg where not only the stakes will be high but also some ticket prices.

The reason why Sevilla set ticket prices at €9,999 for UEL game vs. West Ham

Fans who were trying to book a seat for the game may have been surprised when they saw the prices. Sevilla decided to sell seats in the stands behind the goals - Gol Norte (North Goal) and Gol Sur (South Goal) at a mind-blowing €9,999.

The reason behind this move is to prevent visitor supporters from seating next to home fans, as these tickets are not directed for away attendees. Sevilla members, meanwhile, were able to buy these tickets for a much lower price.

West Ham have already sold the 3,000 tickets they were given by Sevilla but it's believed that more Hammers will travel to Spain to try and sneak into the stadium anyway. With that in mind, the club has decided to set an incredibly high price in order to avoid any possible conflict inside the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
