Of course, this doesn’t mean anything, and it could be just a coincidence — albeit a strange one. With all due respect, Brown isn’t the biggest star on the team, so it’s odd that Rhoades chooses him, of all people, to hype the Nuggets up.



Also, Rhoades admitted that she didn’t actually enjoy that first date with the Nets player, citing that he had brought in a ‘backup date,’ and that they never actually clicked:



“The guy who invited me also invited one of the other girls and this isn’t the first time that this has happened to me that where I’ve been invited on a date&nbsp;and they also invite a ‘backup option,’” Rhoades said in a podcast.

However, as impressive as he is, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal doesn’t think he would be able to play back in the day, stating that opposing big men would dominate him.

Notably, this isn’t the first time that Shaq has shown his concerns about the lanky Frenchman. Just a couple of weeks ago, he questioned him for not having post-moves and being rather skinny.



“I’m a bit skeptical because of the good and bad thing about highlights,” Shaq said. “When you put your highlights on, you always show the good parts. I want to see this kid play a full game. He’s not very big — he’s tall, but he’s building up a lot of muscles, not that strong. He can shoot, he can dribble, he can do all that.”



“But I’m only seeing highlights of him dunk the ball and shoot jumpers. I haven’t really seen a lot of post moves,” continued Shaq. “We haven’t seen a lot of that stuff. So again, now you could be a star in France. When you come over here, you definitely got to start all over. A lot of guys have a lot of hype and came over here, some played out, and some didn’t. So I’m going to be more on the skeptical side like Charles.”



The concerns are more than valid and fair. However, Shaq has not exactly been known for embracing the modern-day big man, so one should take his comments with a grain of salt.

“I’m not condoning the behavior; I’m not saying there should be no punishment; there should be,” Redick continued. “You are the face of the league; you are representing the NBA, you are a role model to young kids, all of that. I don’t think half the season is the right answer.”



“And the last point I wanna make. If you bring this up, the gun on social media, you talk about consequences. In our country right now, gun culture is pervasive,” Redick said. “We have mass shooting after mass shooting, and nobody’s doing a damn thing about it. So I get why we’re so sensitive to this right now. But there’s no consequence for Greg Abbott [governor of Texas], telling his constituents to go buy more guns. And then we have mass shooting after mass shooting in Texas.”



“There are no consequences for elected Tenessee official to send out a Christmas card holding AR-15s with his young family. And then there’s a shooting in his very district. There’s no consequences to that. So why are we trying to lay down the hammer on a 23-year-old who didn’t break a law? Explain that to me,“ Redick concluded.

Ja didn’t break any law, and he does have a right to own a gun; those points are fair. But two wrongs don’t make a right, and the NBA has the power to do something about what they can control.



They cannot control politics, they cannot control how polititians handle themselves. But what they can do is look to make an impact through their stars and role models.



The issue isn’t that Ja owns a gun. It’s not that he’s been involved in multiple physical altercations — with a teenager and a security guard who couldn’t even beat up an NBA player, not with actual thugs — it isn’t even that he blatantly lied and wasted his team’s and teammates’ time with that counseling.

“We’re only one year in,” Harden said. “We played against a team that’s been together for quite a few years now. They were in the finals last year so they know what it takes to get back there and this is only Year 1 for us, full year so it was great.”

“We’re not playing right now because when you speak about the foul and all the slippage we had on the road as a team, not being able to come together,” Green told Stephen A. Smith. 



“None of those things happen if that (punching Poole) doesn’t happen because of the voice and departments I lead this team in, there was a ton of slippage due to me sitting back, not saying anything, me allowing that situation to play itself out and giving it time to heal,“ Green continued. 



“Why are you giving it time to heal? I would say by February I started to feel like myself again but guess what, there were five months of the season where slippage kept occurring. By February, if the slippage has been going on for that long, you are who you are. You built those habits, so try to correct them then. You may get a little better, we ended up in the second round of the playoffs, but not at a championship level,“ he concluded.

Morant was suspended for eight games during the season for an incident involving a gun.
