The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">NCAAF</a> season for the Nebraska Cornhuskers definitely fell short of expectations within the program. At the start of the season, Matt Rhule faced a quarterback dilemma between Dylan Raiola and Heinrich Haarberg, ultimately choosing Raiola. However, for the crucial Bowl game against Boston College, the HC has not ruled out Haarberg playing.


 


Since the coach ultimately decided to trust <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/dylan-raiola">Raiola</a> as his starting quarterback throughout the season, Haarberg transitioned to the offensive line, taking on the role of Tight End.



Despite this unusual situation where the coach decided to change roles for some of his players, Rhule himself assured that, if necessary, Haarberg would be able to return to his natural position.



“He’ll still be available as a quarterback in the bowl game,” Matt Rhule said. “But Jalyn [Gramstad] has been working as the number two quarterback and Heinrich’s been pretty much full steam ahead getting ready for next year and sort of being that F-Y tight end type guy.”

The Huskers currently boast a 5-3 record in <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">college football</a>, meaning they are one win away from earning Bowl eligibility. The UCLA Bruins visit the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the NCAA’s week 10. As they gear up to face Matt Rhule’s program, led by Dylan Raiola, the Bruins HC DeShaun Foster made something clear on the QB and his linking to <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl">NFL</a> star Patrick Mahomes.

<h2>Nebraska’s hopes came crashing down</h2>

On the first five games of the year, Raiola looked sharp and threw for 9 touchdowns and two interceptions. Since, his production has depleted and the Huskers have suffered from it.

Raiola emphasized the talent at the quarterback position in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a>, yet he never mentioned Shedeur Sanders, who is widely expected to be one of the first QBs taken in next year’s draft. While it’s true that other great players were also snubbed and the list reflected Raiola’s subjective preferences, it seems odd that Sanders was left out, especially considering the history between the two.

<h2>Big match ahead for Raiola</h2>



<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nebraska">Nebraska</a> currently boasts a 5-1 record (2-1 Big Ten) and will visit No. 16 Indiana Hoosiers (6-0, 3-0 Conference) in a pivotal match for the conference. A win for Matt Rhule’s Huskers could earn them Top-25 votes, as well as help them escalate in the stacked Big Ten standings. 



The schedule does not get any lighter for the Cornhuskers after their road-game against Indiana. On October 26, they will face the Ohio State Buckeyes, as they make their way to the ‘Mother of Presidents’ State. These games will be huge tests for Raiola, who ranks tenth for passing yards in the Big Ten (1,358 yards), along with nine touchdowns and three interceptions.
