The Rutgers Scarlet Knights haven’t found that much success this season. That’s a bit of a surprise, considering that they have the most exciting duo in all of <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball</a>.



Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper are projected to be top-three picks in the 2025 NBA Draft, with scouts going back and forth about who should go first between the two young stars.



With that in mind, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/lebron-james" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LeBron James</a> tipped his hat to him, talking about his special talent and the relationship they’ve built because of his friendship with his father, Ron Harper.

Through 19 games this season, the five-star freshman has posted averages of 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 31.4 minutes while shooting 48% from the field and almost 34% from deep.

Unfortunately, Harper wasn’t much of a factor in his team’s loss to Michigan State. He’s dealing with an ankle injury, and it’ll be interesting to see if he decides to play through it or stay healthy for the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NBA</a> Draft.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights needed a strong effort to try and come back against No. 8 Michigan State on Saturday at Madison Square Garden. Unfortunately, one of their best players didn’t get the memo.



Star freshman Dylan Harper was on the floor for just 13 minutes. Coach Steve Pikiell benched him for the final 18:30 of the game in what ended up being a seven-point loss.



Harper didn’t play well when he was on the floor, and following the loss, coach Pikiell admitted that he had been dealing with an ankle sprain, adding that he shouldn’t have played at all.

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote">“It’s just an ankle sprain that needs a little more time,” Pikiell said. “He’s tough as nails. I’m proud of him. He was in that training room, lived there practically for a couple days. I honestly did not think he was going to play. He said ‘let me give it a whirl’ and he gave us 13 minutes. That says a lot about him.”</blockquote>

Harper struggled from the field. He scored just six points on 2-of-4 minutes, missing his only three-point attempt and going 2-of-4 from the free-throw line as well. That’s why Spartans coach Tom Izzo knew his team dodged a bullet:

It wasn’t much of a surprise to see the team lose without their best player. Rutgers shot 33.8% from the floor, and they even missed 11 consecutive shots at one point.

Saturday night will be a special date for <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/john-calipari" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">John Calipari</a>. It will mark his return to Rupp Arena, this time on the other side of the bleachers, as the Arkansas Razorbacks will visit the Kentucky Wildcats.



That will mark the first time he returns to the place he called home for more than a decade. And with his team 1-6 in conference play, it will be a playoff-like game against his former program.



With that in mind, the legendary coach shared his thoughts on this highly-anticipated matchup. He admitted it was going to be weird for him to be on the other side.

More than that, he knows that he might not be welcomed with open arms by the Kentucky Wildcats, and the same goes for his trio of former Wildcats: Zvonimir Ivisic, D.J. Wagner, and Adou Thiero:



“That’s all part of it. You get booed. I’ve done this so long, I tell you, I’ve got bazooka holes in my body. When you shoot arrows, it doesn’t even hit skin. It goes through one of those bazooka holes,” Calipari said.

The Kentucky Wildcats are transitioning into a new era under Mark Pope. Even so, they’re still a blue-collar program, and, as such, they’re expected to compete at the highest level.



That’s why it’s been so frustrating to watch them get off to slow starts and dig themselves into big holes to start games. They’ve been able to recover at times, but they’ve made it difficult on themselves.



The Wildcats have trailed at halftime eight times this season, sometimes by as many as 16 points. That’s why Coach Pope knows they need to start with more energy.

The coach went on to claim that his team looked a little tired there. He also thinks they lacked focus, and gave the winners a lot of credit for the way they made the most of that:

We’re really — our bench is a little bit disintegrated, so we’ve got some fatigue out there. That’s an issue. Despite the setback, Bailey dominated with 30 points and seven rebounds. That’s why several NBA Draft analysts took to social media to rave about how much he’s improved this year.

Scouts from Point Made Basketball also took notice of Bailey’s big night vs. Penn State, headlining his strange combination of athleticism and size and his improved defensive IQ:

It’s never easy to predict whether a player will turn out to be a star in the NBA. But even if Bailey’s game isn’t as complete as others, he might have the highest upside in this class.

However, that hasn’t been the case so far. They’re currently 15th in the Big Ten with a 3-5 record, and they’ve gone 10-9 overall despite having Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey.



When asked about that, former NBA star Jalen Rose talked about the issues that come with playing like a team, as talent alone isn’t enough to get the job done in this game.

Kline went on to rave about his athleticism, and while he admits that he’s a work in progress, he’s been in awe of how naturally some aspects of the game have come to him:

That’s why their recent interview made internet detectives resurface one of Auriemma’s boldest takes. Years ago, he went as far as to compare her with Michael Jordan.

The legendary coach doubled down on his take by stating that he wouldn’t be embarrassed or humiliated by the media. If anything, he could only feel embarrassed among his peers:

Nonetheless, as well as the team has played during the winning streak, coach Geno Auriemma is well aware of the fact that no team can win off of just one player.

With that in mind, the legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski shared his thoughts on the hype surrounding their two latest superstars: Zion Williamson and <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/cooper-flagg" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cooper Flagg.</a>

Unfortunately, Williamson hasn’t been able to find that same success in the league. While spectacular when he plays, he’s been hurt more often than not so far.

There have also been some major concerns about his work ethic, eating habits, and overall feel for the game. Hopefully, that won’t be the case with Flagg, who has everything to be a star.

The Commissioner then talked about the importance of getting more American talents to the league and getting to work closely with national player development programs:
