<p>The <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/dallas-stars">Dallas Stars</a></strong> suffered their second loss in a row, this time against Central Division opponent’s <strong>Chicago Blackhawks</strong>. After the game, coach <strong>Pete DeBoer</strong> voiced a strong admission on the team’s performance during their matchup with <strong>Connor Bedard</strong>, and the Hawks.</p>



<p><strong>The Stars are one of the biggest contenders in the</strong> <strong>Western Conference</strong> and overall in the <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nhl">NHL</a></strong>, though they have yet to showcase their best games this season. </p>



<p><strong>Dallas has lots of depth on their roster</strong>. The team’s four lines are capable of scoring whenever they step onto the ice. However, as the Stars finished their roadtrip in Chicago they were outplayed by Bedard, and the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/chicago-blackhawks">Blackhawks</a>. M<strong>ore specifically, by Taylor Hall</strong>. The left-winger scored a hat trick and was the deciding factor during Chicago’s 6-2 triumph.</p>



<p>After the game, coach DeBoer didn’t hold back on his thoughts and voiced a very strong message.</p>

<p>“<em><strong>Ugly night, starting with the first shot of the game and downhill after that</strong>,” said </em>Dallas coach Pete DeBoer, via<em> NHL.com. “Don’t have much to say. <strong>There’s no sense evaluating it</strong>. The third period in Carolina and then tonight (were) not up to standard.”</em></p>

<h2>Bedard snaps 12-game goal drought</h2>



<p><strong>The 2023/24 Calder Trophy winner</strong> has been under a bit of a sophomore slump. He is still the team leader in points and assists. But his overall production has suffered. <strong>Through 22 games, the 19-year-old tallies four goals and twelve assists</strong>.</p>



<p>In the Blackhawks’ commanding 6-2 triumph over Dallas, <strong>Connor Bedard broke free from a 12-game scoring spell</strong>. The stellar youngster admitted the drought was unlike anything he had ever experienced in his career.</p>



<p><em>“On the goal, yeah, <strong>kind of relief</strong>,” </em>Bedard said<em>. “I mean, it’s been like a month. <strong>I don’t know if I’ve had a stretch like that in my life</strong>, so felt good to see one go in.”</em></p>



<h2>Hall’s last hat trick</h2>



<p>Bedard was not the only Blackhawks forward to end a long-tenured drought against the Stars. <strong>Hall scored hs fifth career NHL hat trick</strong>. His fourth had been over 10 years ago, on December 5 2013.</p>



<p><em>“<strong>It’s been a long time</strong>,” </em>Hall stated<em>. “You know, <strong>you don’t come into games expecting to score hat tricks</strong>, but I’ve been working pretty hard. I’ve been pretty happy with how I’ve been playing and my effort</em>.”</p>

<p>Through the opening month in the NHL season, <strong>Bedard tallies 12 points (3G, 9A)</strong>. Enough to rank first among the Blackhawks, but not nearly enough for Bedard’s self-evaluation. However, the point production is not what’s bugging Connor the most about his performance. Instead, the <strong>sophomore is upset with his results at the faceoff dot.</strong></p>



<p><em>“<strong>It’s either average or it’s really bad</strong>,” </em>Bedard said, via<em> Chicago Sun Times. “[It’s about] consistency and finding different ways to win them. <strong>Last year, I really only did one thing, and you’re not going to win many draws like that</strong>. I’m trying to find a couple new ways to win, but I’ve got to obviously be better.”</em></p>

<p>Fans in ‘Windy City’ can only hope a strong breeze helps them even the scale in the faceoff dot. Although Bedard’s faceoff percentage indicates an area to work on, <strong>it’s become a common topic among the Hawks centermen</strong>. </p>



<p>The <strong>Blackhawks rank 27th in the league with a 44.6% percentage</strong> of success at the draw spot. Last season, <strong>Chicago finished 30th in this department</strong>. There’s definitely an ongoing issue in Chi-town, and it’s not just Bedard struggling with it. </p>

<p>Luke Richardson lost another game in the 2024-25 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nhl">NHL</a> season as <strong>the Chicago Blackhawks fell to the Nashville Predators</strong>. Despite leading at one point, they ultimately lost 3-2, <strong>marking their sixth defeat of the season</strong>, including one OT loss to Winnipeg.</p>



<p>After the tough loss to the Predators, several players and head coach Luke Richardson spoke to address the issues, <strong>with Richardson noting that one of the primary reasons for this third consecutive loss was that the team took too many penalties.</strong></p>



<p>The game against the Predators <strong>saw the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/chicago-blackhawks">Blackhawks</a> rack up six penalties</strong>—two per period. The visiting Predators had the same number of penalties, although they took three in the second period and only one in the third.</p>



<p>This game was the fourth consecutive home match for the Blackhawks, <strong>during a stretch in which they only managed a win against San Jose, 4-2</strong>. Attendance has also dropped, with just over 17,000 fans attending the last two home games, down nearly 2,000 from earlier games.</p>

<p>In addition to Richardson’s comments, defenseman Connor Murphy acknowledged that the Blackhawks <strong>lost their momentum during the game</strong>, pointing to struggles with the special teams. Fellow defenseman Alec Vlasic noted that while they played well at times—especially in the second period—there were issues in the third as the Predators’ deep play put them on their heels.</p>

<h2>Bedard’s start to the season</h2>



<p>The 2023/24 Calder Trophy Winner <strong>has had a quiet start to the season by his standards</strong>. The talented center still <strong>leads the Blackhawks in points, with 7</strong>. But his goal production has been underwhelming. Bedard only tallies one goal through his first seven games.</p>

<h2>Connor McDavid states who should captain Team Canada</h2>



<p>Although not much talk should land on this matter, superstar <strong>Connor McDavid</strong> made a clear statement and settled any future debate on <strong>who should wear the ‘C’ for Canada</strong> in the Four Nations Faceoff. </p>



<p>Team Canada is at no shortage of leaders, however, the team knows there is only one correct answer as to who should be named Captain: <em><strong>“Should be Sid (Sidney Crosby). Should be Sid, for sure. That’s not even a question,</strong>” </em>McDavid told TSN reporters.</p>



<h2>Team USA and Team Canada will meet for first time in a decade</h2>



<p>The last time two-fully equipped American and Canadian rosters met was in the <strong>2014 Winter Olympics</strong>. Since, the NHL has not allowed its players to participate in the Winter Games, and so Canada and the USA have met in World Juniors. The <strong>Four Nations will be the first meeting </strong>between the top stars in International Hockey<strong> since Canada took home the gold medal in Sochi</strong>.</p>



<p>Though Finland and Sweden participate as well, the most highly-anticipated matchup will take place on <strong>February 15th, when the USA and Canada face off in Montreal.</strong> The game cannot come fast enough for both sides. The <strong>Championship Game is scheduled on February 20th at TD Garden.</strong></p>



<p>The rosters will be star-studded and comparisons between both teams may vary on who has the upper-hand. However, the Nordic countries are not to be underestimated as <strong>they could spoil the party for the host countries</strong>.</p>



<h2>Confirmed players so far</h2>



<p>Though the teams’ <strong>full rosters will be revealed between November 29th and December 2nd</strong>, the NHL has announced six players from each country who will represent their nations.</p>



<p><strong>Team Canada</strong>: Brayden Point, Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Connor McDavid, and Brad Marchand.</p>



<p><strong>Team USA:</strong> Matthew Tkachuk, Auston Matthews, Quinn Hughes, Adam Fox, Jack Eichel, and Charlie McAvoy.</p>



<p><strong>Team Finland</strong>: Aleksander Barkov, Sebastian Aho, Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell, Mikko Rantanen, and Juuse Saros.</p>

<h2>Bedard sets himself and Blackhawks to high-standard</h2>



<p>The Chicago Blackhawks organization is currently in the early stages of a rebuild. Following their success in the 2010s, <strong>the Hawks have closed down the curtain on those glory days</strong> and are now looking to start from scratch after years of lingering in No Man’s Land. </p>



<p>Chicago is confident Bedard will be the franchise’s cornerstone and fans in Windy City are thrilled to have him in for the long ride. However, <strong>the talented 19-year old is not settling for mediocrity</strong> and is already a leader in a team filled with veterans.</p>



<p><em>“In<strong> the end, it’s about how many games you win, and only getting one is not great</strong>,” </em>Connor Bedard said<em>. “You can take positives from what we did. We had a chance in every game, which is great, but <strong>in the end it doesn’t really matter. It’s about the two points</strong>.”</em></p>
