Newly-appointed offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt addressed this topic on Wednesday, but he didn’t give a clear answer. Right now, all we know is that the Patriots are still considering whether to move forward with Jones as QB1 or not.



“Really right now, everything is on the table,” Van Pelt said Wednesday when asked if Jones could start in 2024, via NESN. “As we go through this process, we’re really, this last couple weeks, 10 days, have just dived into who we are, trying to evaluate our guys. A lot of people in this situation, on staffs that have been here, they’re doing free agency. We’re doing our guys as they are free agents. So we’re trying to understand who we have here as well as other players out there.“



Jones lost the starting job to Bailey Zappe midway through the 2023 season, in what turned out to be <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/bill-belichick">Bill Belichick</a>‘s final year in Foxborough. Now that Jerod Mayo is taking over with new members on his staff, it’s uncertain whether Jones will get another chance.

“Really right now everything is on the table and we’re still working through that process. When that time comes, I’m sure it will be a collaborative effort and I’m sure we’ll make the right decisions,” Van Pelt said.

<h2>Patriots have a big decision to make</h2>



The Patriots have struggled since <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/tom-brady">Tom Brady</a> left in 2020, and even though Jones had a promising rookie year, his performances went downhill the next two seasons. Now he’s in a contract year, and what the team will do next with him is unclear.



New England has an interesting chance to rebuild as it holds the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Many expect the Pats to use it for another quarterback, as Jones took many steps back in 2022 and 2023.

Stevenson, 25, aims to become the Patriots’ primary option on the ground. While an ankle injury ended his season prematurely last year, the Oklahoma product also faced competition in his three seasons at Gillette Stadium, with James White, Damien Harris, and Ezekiel Elliott at his position.



But now that he’s been left as the most experienced player in a young RB room, Stevenson wants to prove his worth as his four-year, $4,229,056 contract expires at the end of 2024. He hopes the rest of his teammates can contribute as well, but Stevenson wants to lead the way.

<h2>Patriots need to improve in offense</h2>

Fortunately for Stevenson, the new Patriots OC is a guy who believes in the importance of a strong running game. “I think running the football in this league wins games, wins championships, being able to do that late into the season,” Van Pelt said, via NESN.

<h2>The details of the 2025 Super Bowl ring</h2>



In 2025, the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/philadelphia-eagles">Philadelphia Eagles</a> pulled off a commanding 40-22 victory over the then two-time defending champions Chiefs to win Super Bowl LIX, preventing Kansas City from achieving an unprecedented three-peat. Moreover, one carat of marquise-shaped diamonds inside the Vince Lombardi Trophies was included to honor the Eagles’ top-ranked total defense (278.4 yards per game) and the record-breaking rushing offense that racked up 3,866 rushing yards, including the postseason.

18 green stones encircle the top of the ring to remember the Eagles’ 18 combined victories in the regular season and playoffs. 10 points of diamonds in the Super Bowl LIX logo shown in the ring symbolize the Eagles’ 10-game winning streak in the regular season, a franchise record.



The ring also has the players’ last names with their jersey numbers, encrusted in diamonds, against the backdrop of Lincoln Financial Field. Rings for staff members also feature last names.
