The San Francisco 49ers are one of the standout teams this <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl">NFL</a> season, and what’s remarkable about their performance is that they’ve managed to maintain it despite several injuries — many of them quite serious. On Tuesday, the trade deadline finally came and went, and in the Bay Area, no last-minute moves were made. But why did they decide to stand pat?



John Lynch is primarily responsible for leading the negotiations to strengthen the roster, always in collaboration with the coaching staff led by Kyle Shanahan. This time, the 49ers’ GM revealed that they wouldn’t make moves at any cost, so they decided to maintain the roster as they look ahead to what’s coming.

“A reach? This is robbery,” Prisco said. “Not only are you getting two first-round picks back, you’re giving up an enormous salary. So the Colts are giving away two first-round picks for corner who has a big salary and hasn’t quite played up to expectations. This is a desperation move by the Indianapolis Colts. Sauce Gardner at best is a really good player, but he’s not worth two number ones.”

Meyers has dropped only 11 passes in 98 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFL</a> games and has never dropped more than two passes in the same season. He should clearly get plenty of looks given his ability and the fact that Jacksonville has many injuries on its WR corp. 



<h2>Meyers’ motivation should be sky-high</h2>



Meyers desperately wanted to get traded from the Raiders. In fact, he requested a trade before the season started. Now, he got his wish and gets to play under a brilliant offensive mind in <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/liam-coen" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Liam Coen</a>.

Meyers was overlooked this season. He went from WR1 to almost ignored in the Raiders. He has 33 catches for 352 yards. In fact, he hasn’t gotten more than four catches since Week 2. He is also yet to score a touchdown this season.

<h2>Meyers is a volume guy</h2>



Meyers is not a deep threat. He is more of a volume, short-to-medium route receiver. This could also help unleash Brian Thomas Jr.’s speed on deep routes. BTJ has been really underwhelming this year but Meyers could be the key piece to open the window for BTJ to explode.



The Jaguars are having a positive season and the playoffs are on the horizon. However, the offensive production has been lacking due to the drops. The Jaguars lead the NFL in dropped passes with 30. The next has just 21. Meyers will clearly solve this issue to some degree.

It’s been a busy few days at the Arizona Cardinals’ facilities, as the team decided to place its star quarterback <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/kyler-murray">Kyler Murray</a> on injured reserve, giving Jacoby Brissett the nod once again as QB1. Up next for Jonathan Gannon’s team are the Seattle Seahawks.



Due to the injury currently affecting Murray, the team decided to act quickly and finalized the signing of veteran Jeff Driskel, who joins the Cardinals’ practice squad. The backup quarterback role will be filled by Kedon Slovis.



The news was confirmed by insider Bo Brack, who reported the move through his official X account (formerly Twitter). It’s an interesting decision by a team that still hasn’t given up hope of earning a Wild Card spot.
