The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/texas-longhorns">Texas Longhorns</a>‘ journey in the college football season will begin this weekend with their opening game against Colorado State. Head coach Steve Sarkisian still needs to make a final decision on who will start as quarterback.



In their first presentation since joining the SEC, all eyes will be on this program. Last year, the Texans reached the playoffs, and this season they will aim to at least match that achievement.



The main issue for Coach Sarkisian is having two top-tier quarterbacks. On one hand, there’s Quinn Ewers, who is considered a serious contender for the Heisman Trophy. On the other hand, there’s Arch Manning, who has been making a strong case for more playing time.



The path this season will be far from easy for the Longhorns. Among other top contenders, they will face teams like Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, and Texas A&amp;M. Undoubtedly, it will be a significant challenge for the Texans.

<h2>The final decision from HC on who will start in week 1</h2>



Regarding the final decision on who will be the starter for the debut against Colorado State, Coach Sarkisian did not specify whether it will be Manning or Ewers.



According to columnist Anwar Richardson, ‘Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian was asked if he would play Arch Manning in the first half against Colorado State. Sarkisian responded, “We’ll find out.”

He did it at the Australian Open and Wimbledon, as well as the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/us-open">US Open</a>, which he won five consecutive times. Now, Djokovic, who has defended titles in London and Melbourne, also has the opportunity to achieve that this year, after winning the major in 2023 against Daniil Medvedev.



<h2>Djokovic could also tie Federer’s wins in New York</h2>



The 2024 has been somewhat of a difficult year for the Serbian, who is also trying to ensure that 2024 will not be his first year without winning a major since 2017, after Carlos Alcaraz won Wimbledon and the French Open, and Jannik Sinner won in Australia. However, in order to do that, he also has to be the first man to defend a title in New York since 2008… When Federer conquered his last US Open.

In his pre-tournament press conference, Djokovic admitted he hadn’t realized it had been 16 years since a man last defended the US Open title. “I didn’t know that,” Djokovic said. “I knew it had been the case for maybe five or ten years, but I didn’t realize it was that long. Hopefully, that changes this year. That’s the goal,” he added. 



Having reached a record 10 US Open finals, Djokovic now has the chance to equal the Open Era record of five titles held by Federer, Pete Sampras, and Jimmy Connors at the New York major. And, even if he doesn’t win the tournament, but at least reach the third round, he would also surpass Federer’s 89 triumphs in the US Open (Jimmy Connors has the record with 98).

The controversy deepened when the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) declared him innocent, sparking debate across the tennis world.



<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/novak-djokovic">Novak Djokovic</a>, who is ranked second in the ATP, spoke candidly about the case, highlighting issues within the system. “I understand the frustration among players due to the lack of consistency,” Djokovic remarked. “As I understood, his case was cleared the moment basically it was announced. But I think five or six months passed since the news [of the positive tests] was brought to him and his team,” the 24-time Grand Slam champion explained.



“So, yes, there are a lot of problems in the system. We see a lack of standardized and clear protocols. I can understand the feelings of many players who wonder if they are being treated in the same way. Hopefully the governing bodies of our sport can learn from this case and have a better approach for the future. I think collectively there has to be a change, and I think that’s obvious,” Djokovic concluded.



<h2>Jannik Sinner’s doping case</h2>



Jannik Sinner tested positive for clostebol during the Indian Wells Masters 1000 in March. The ITIA determined that the positive test was due to an error by Sinner’s physiotherapist, who unknowingly used a product containing the banned substance.

In response to the controversy, Sinner decided to part ways with two of his team physiotherapists, Giacomo Naldi and Umberto Ferrara. Despite the scandal, Sinner received no suspension and is set to compete at the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/us-open">US Open</a>, where he will face American Mackenzie McDonald in the opening round.

I will continue to do everything I can to ensure that I remain compliant with the ITIA anti-doping program. I am happy that it is finally out because it is also a bit of a relief for me and my team”.

<h2>Giacomo Naldi’s response</h2>



Physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi confirmed via social media that he and Umberto Ferrara have stepped down from Sinner’s team. “There are two forms of justice: the official one, determined by the courts; and the (unfortunately more impactful) one shaped by the media. The latter is often superficial and rarely based on the real facts, which, in this case, are public,” Naldi stated on Instagram.

As a new college football season kicks off, several universities are in serious contention for the title, while many others aim to secure a playoff spot. When it comes to expert opinions on the matter, few voices are as authoritative as that of former Alabama Crimson Tide coach <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nick-saban">Nick Saban</a>.



When it comes to naming contenders for this year’s title, many might think of Ohio State, Alabama, or even the Oklahoma Sooners and Georgia. However, the list grows much longer when analyzing teams aiming to at least make the playoffs.



The preseason has been exceptionally intense for many universities, with the goal of securing as many victories as possible. This effort is aimed at achieving the coveted goal of advancing deep into the competition and, potentially, capturing a title.

The Trojans will kick off their season this Sunday, September 1, against a tough opponent in LSU. Following that, they will face three challenging matchups: Utah State, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Without a doubt, it’s a tough start to the season.



<h2>The successor to Williams for Week 1</h2>



Following Williams’ departure to the NFL, HC Riley has finally named his successor for the start of the season. The player is none other than Miller Moss, who has been with the Trojans for several years and had a standout performance in the Hollywood Bowl.



According to ESPN journalist Paolo Uggetti, it will be Moss who starts in Week 1 against LSU: “It took Moss all of spring practice and most of fall camp to officially secure the position, but in many ways, Moss may have won the job back in December.”
