If there is a player with a chip on its shoulder coming into the 2026 NFL Draft, it’s <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/vanderbilt" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vanderbilt</a> quarterback Diego Pavia. Always regarded like an underdog due to his size, he has turned into quite a pitbull, stocky, aggressive, and with a tough mentality. He is now dismissing the doubters quite vehemently.



When Pavia didn’t win the Heisman, Pavia said, “F— all the voters.” While he apologized for that, the fact is Pavia holds grudges against the ones who doubt him. Speaking on Friday at the combine, he was asked about people worrying about his size, given that Pavia stands at 5’9″ tall, according to his measurements in the Senior Bowl. That would put him below Bryce Young and Kyler Murray as the shortest QB in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFL</a>. Young and Murray stand at 5’10” and have struggled.



Still, Pavia is confident, saying, “I would just say turn on the tape. It’s not like we’re not playing these guys who are going first round, second round on Saturdays in the SEC. So, I know the SEC and the Big Ten probably have the most guys drafted in the first and second round. So, we’re playing those guys and ain’t nothing going to change.”



<h2>Pavia is short, but he is very physical</h2>



Contrary to Young and Murray, who have struggled with contact during their carees, Pavia doesn’t shy away from it and he will try to bulldoze the defenders before going down. His build is more stocky and strong than Young’s and Murray. Still, NFL teams don’t exactly love their QBs taking hits and/or struggling to see above the line of scrimmage.

However, Pavia says his skill set helps him beat the obstacles. “I’ve seen a lot of football. I feel like I can process a defense really fast, get the ball where it needs to go, check us into good plays, stay out of bad plays. And I feel like that’s how you stay on schedule [with] that second-and-6, third-and-short, that’s how you win football games.”

<h2>Pavia’s projected spot in the NFL Draft</h2>

As for Pavia, his draft projection is all over the place, but on the lower side of things.



Some mock drafts have him between the fifth and seventh round, while other scouts see him going undrafted. Pavia is a big name and has a big personality. Hence, Pavia is likely to get chances, even if undrafted, to try and win a place in the NFL. However, once again, he will be an underdog to the highest of levels.

Carnell Tate is ready to produce in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFL</a>. As he prepares for the draft after impressing for Ohio State in the NCAA, the wide receiver is just ready to roll and he made sure all teams know that.



Tate knows he has all the tools to be an NFL superstar. Speaking to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, the Ohio State product said, “Everything. The catching, the route running, the blocking. I got&nbsp;the mindset&nbsp;that I’m the best wide receiver in the draft class. I got the route running, I’m able to manipulate DB, I got the catching, I can catch over DBs. I’ve got the field awareness on the sidelines, a couple of sideline grabs. I also showed up in the blocking game, blocking D-ends, corners. Whatever you need, I got it.”



And to be fair, it’s hard to argue with Tate. He was a showstopper at <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ohio-state" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ohio State</a> and he is electric on the field. Tate has all the tools to become an absolute star for whatever team that drafts him.



<h2>Ohio State is effectively WR University</h2>



The amount of top-notch wideouts that Ohio State has produced in the last few years is just absurd. Tate has all the tools to be the next one on that elite list. He caught 51 passes for 875 yards and nine touchdowns for the Buckeyes in 2025.

Marvin Harrison Jr., Chris Olave, Emeka Egbuka, Terry McLaurin, Garrett Wilson, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are all thriving in the NFL after delivering the goods for the Buckeyes. At this point, any first-round WR coming from Ohio State deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Carnell Tate is a star in the making, but he wasn’t even the most productive receiver on the Ohio State roster. Jeremiah Smith was even better, leading the Big Ten in receptions (87) and receiving yards (1,243). That left Tate as WR2 of the team, which is just insane to think about.



However, Smith is stil not eligible to go to the NFL, he needs to play one more season at the collegiate level. Smith just ended up sixth in the Heisman voting. However, next year, Smith will be undoubtedly one of the best wideouts available.

Nevertheless, the franchise could be preparing an aggressive approach to the event in order to better support <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/jordan-love" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jordan Love</a> heading into the upcoming season.



Last offseason, the Packers entered win-now mode by trading two first-round picks to the Dallas Cowboys for <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/micah-parsons" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Micah Parsons</a>. The bold move, however, did not produce the expected results, as the star pass rusher suffered a season-ending injury in early December.

Entering an NFL Draft without a first-round pick is far from ideal. The Packers sacrificed significant draft capital for Parsons, hoping the addition would accelerate their path to contention.



After falling short of expectations in 2025, questions naturally emerged about the long-term impact of that trade. With no first-round picks in 2026 or 2027, the pressure is mounting on the front office to maximize every opportunity available.



However, lacking a first-round selection does not necessarily mean staying put. General manager Brian Gutekunst has indicated the Packers will evaluate all top prospects, hinting that moving up into the first round remains a possibility if the right prospect becomes available.

“It’s about winning now. If there’s players who we can sign that give us the opportunity to win now more so than holding out for a compensatory pick in 2027, that’s the decision we’re going to make. It’s a factor, but the most important thing is our ability to win in 2026.”

“We kind of have this adage that you play your way into primetime,” NFL Vice President of Broadcast Planning and Scheduling Mike North told Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. “You don’t draft your way into primetime. So the Titans are one of the teams that don’t currently have a national television window assigned. But that’s what things like flexible scheduling are for. And if you look down the stretch for the Titans, they play San Francisco in Week 15, Kansas City in Week 16. They’ve got the same opportunity every other team has to play their way into a national window.”

According to a filing obtained by USA TODAY, a man referred to as John Doe filed a lawsuit against the NFL, claiming that “the NFL’s actions and the dissemination of slanderous statements have caused severe emotional distress and trauma.”



Doe is seeking $100 million in damages related to Sanders’ fall to the fifth round. He alleges that negative reports about Sanders’ performance in pre-draft interviews “contributed to a narrative that has unjustly harmed his reputation and potential as a player.”

The coaching staff plans to use him exclusively as a quarterback, not wasting his talent on other positions.



“Jalen is a quarterback through and through. He’s going to be trained to play quarterback for us. When he’s in there, he’s going to be playing quarterback. But the athleticism is going to come to life when he’s on the field. That’s how he’s going to help us,” Macdonald firmly stated.

“The way they used him was more in a tight end-fullback hybrid role, sometimes taking snaps,” Macdonald told reporters regarding this situation about Hill.

<h2>Macdonald highlights Milroe’s standout trait</h2>



The Seahawks’ decision to secure Milroe’s services is no coincidence. In a press conversation, Mike Macdonald revealed the main reasons that convinced him to keep the quarterback in the recent <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nfl-draft">NFL Draft</a>.



“Quarterbacks that extend the play are incredibly difficult to defend,” the head coach said. “The worst feeling in the world is you play the first play of the play perfectly on defense, you defend it. ‘All right, sweet. We did it.’ Then the guy still has the ball. You’ve got to defend the next play, sometimes a third play. He can kill you in the first play, the second play, the third play. It’s not a fun existence to live consistently. He has that ability.”


 


While <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/sam-darnold">Darnold</a> is expected to take the reins for Seattle starting in Week 1, the bet on Milroe to fully develop his potential in the long term is a reality. Macdonald can rest easy knowing his quarterback corps is well-covered.
