According to a filing obtained by USA TODAY, a man referred to as John Doe filed a lawsuit against the NFL, claiming that “the NFL’s actions and the dissemination of slanderous statements have caused severe emotional distress and trauma.”

The Giants’ star wide receiver has openly shared his admiration for Shedeur Sanders. For that reason, he believes the quarterback is definitely not a fifth-round talent and expects his skills to prove it in the near future.



“You don’t do that to somebody like that. You can’t knock his talent. . . . Some things you just can’t knock,” Nabers said. “Come on, bro. We gotta stop making feelings with how people play that linger. Yeah, he might have some things he might say on camera, off the field, that don’t have to do with how he plays football. We’re here for one thing and that’s to play football. Everybody’s got different personalities.”

Selected with the 92nd overall pick in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nfl-draft">NFL Draft</a>, Jalen Milroe — who was recently coached by Kalen DeBoer in college football — couldn’t hide his excitement about heading to Seattle, emphasizing that the Emerald City, might be his “perfect spot.”



“This is definitely a dream come true,” Milroe said in a conference call, per the team website. “The best thing about it is I was gathered with family throughout this whole process. The arrival of Jalen Milroe certainly doesn’t pose an immediate threat to <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/sam-darnold">Sam Darnold</a>‘s position as the starting quarterback under head coach Mike Macdonald. However, the former Alabama standout made it clear to the media that he plans to use this entire process to improve his skills and be fully prepared when his opportunity eventually comes.

When looking, pick and choose what you want on the field, I can do it.

The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/cleveland-browns">Cleveland Browns</a>, holding the 94th overall pick, chose Dillon Gabriel instead. According to GM Andrew Berry, there were more than enough reasons behind that decision.


 


The former Oregon Ducks quarterback entered the draft with uncertainty surrounding his future, but luck seems to be on his side—he now finds himself in a position to compete head-to-head for the starting QB job against Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett under head coach Kevin Stefanski.



“We really felt strongly about Dillon throughout this process,” the General Manager addressed the media after being asked why the team chose <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/dillon-gabriel">Gabriel</a> over Sanders. 



“Think he’s a really strong, really, really good prospect. That’s not to say that we didn’t meet with other quarterbacks that we thought were really talented players and good people, but we felt strong about Dillon and felt he was the best quarterback to pick,” he also added.

“The time that we spent with Shedeur and what he’s done throughout his college career is impressive,” Berry said about Sanders. “He’s an impressive young man. He’s a really good quarterback. Sometimes fit comes into play.”

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Harmon’s mother, Tiffany Saine, who had been on life support, passed away just after Harmon visited her in the hospital to share the news of his selection. “Derrick Harmon’s mom, who was on life support, passed away shortly after he went to the hospital and got to tell her he had been drafted by the Steelers,” Dulac reported via X (formerly Twitter).

<h2>A mother’s resilience</h2>



Harmon’s mother, Tiffany Saine, suffered a stroke in 2022 during her son’s first year at Michigan State, which left her partially paralyzed. Prior to that, she had undergone multiple brain surgeries. During a media appearance earlier this season, Harmon said the most meaningful purchase he made with his NIL earnings was a wheelchair-accessible van for her.
