<h2>Belichick struggled without Brady</h2>



<p>Perhaps the only stain in Belichick’s unforgettable tenure in Foxborough is his <strong>lack of success in the post-Brady era</strong>. While the coach cemented a legacy with TB12 at quarterback, the team was a shell of the old Patriots after Brady’s departure.</p>



<p>The first year without him was obviously challenging, with the Patriots finishing third in the AFC East at 7-9 after a year of transition with <strong>Cam Newton</strong> taking the offensive reins. <strong>That same year, Brady won the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers</strong> in his first season away from New England.</p>



<p>Belichick made a quarterback change for 2021, removing Newton to make room for first-round pick <strong>Mac Jones</strong>. That may have been the only decent season since Brady left. The Alabama product was up to the task, helping the Patriots make the playoffs with a 10-7 record. However, the Bills outplayed them 47-17 in the Wild Card game. And eventually, the hopes that Jones would be the Patriots’ next franchise quarterback <strong>seemed to fade away</strong>.</p>

<p>While the team hasn’t had a winning season since 2017, the <strong>NFC South doesn’t have a powerful owner right now</strong>. In 2022, the Buccaneers won the division with a losing record. This year, the Falcons finished third at 7-10, below the Saints and Bucs (9-8). But Atlanta could have made the playoffs with a win over New Orleans in the season finale.</p>



<p>The division’s weakness is an opportunity to create a winning team, and the Falcons’ poor campaigns in recent years also gave them enough Draft picks to build their roster with <strong>young talent</strong>. Atlanta still <strong>lacks a reliable quarterback</strong>, but having a say on who should lead the offense could be attractive for the new coach as well.</p>

<p>Atlanta seems like a natural fit for Vrabel, personnel and football-wise. They also play in the weakest division in the league, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see them turning into contenders overnight with the proper coaching after three years of <strong>Arthur Smith.</strong></p>



<h2>2. Washington Commanders</h2>



<p>It was just a matter of time before the<strong> Washington Commanders </strong>showed <strong>Ron Rivera</strong> the door. His tenure in Maryland was a major disappointment, as the team couldn’t even keep up with the rest of its division despite boasting plenty of talent on both sides of the field.</p>
