<p>For months, people speculated about<strong> Trevor Bauer’s</strong> next step. The reigning NL Cy Young award winner was coming off the best year of his career and entered the offseason as the best pitcher in the market.</p>
<p>Baur was tied to multiple teams along the way. <p>That was never supposed to happen and Bauer felt pressured to sign with them so he wouldn’t let their fans off. In fact, he told his agent to call the Dodgers and<strong> tell them that he was signing with the Mets:</strong></p>

<p>Luba eventually convinced Bauer to go out for a walk and think things through. Bauer came to his senses and decided to take that<strong>three-year, $102 million deal </strong>with the Dodgers rather than the three-year, $105 million contract the Mets offered him.</p>

<p><strong>The New York Mets</strong> are coming off a bleak season which saw the team win 26 games and lose 34, the Mets finished one spot above last place in the National League East. <p>Mike Puma of The New York Post reveals that Jackie Bradley Jr could be the Mets’ new target for this offseason. He is not George Springer but the player can make a good addition to the team, although his fit with the team will be very the hardest part of this move.</p>
<p><em>The Mets, in search of improved defense at the position, have continued talks in recent days with Bradley’s camp, according to multiple sources, after Springer’s decision last week to accept a six-year offer from the Blue Jays worth $150 million.</em></p>
<p><em>Bradley, 30, slashed .283/.364/.450 last season for the Red Sox, who remain in the mix to re-sign him, according to reports. The Astros and Giants have also been linked to Bradley, who won a Gold Glove with the Red Sox in 2018.</em></p>
<p><em>But Bradley is hardly an ideal fit for the Mets given that he bats left-handed and would be playing in an outfield that also includes lefty swingers Michael Conforto and Brandon Nimmo.</em></p>
<p>This could be an interesting addition for the Mets, but as Puma explained, they already have three left-handed players on the outfield. <p>On Monday former <strong><a href="https://us.bolavip.com/new-york-mets-t110386" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Mets </a>GM Jared Porter</strong> had admitted to sending text messages to a foreign female correspondent who had moved to the United States to cover the <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/mlb-t48464" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MLB</a>. While Porter did not admit to sending lewd pictures of himself, it was confirmed by ESPN that Porter had in fact sent various unsolicited images and texts to the reporter in 2016.</p>
<p>According to the copy of the text history acquired by ESPN, Porter had sent an inappropriate X-rated image of himself along with 15 photos of the hotel he was staying at and 1 picture of his groin. The female reporter stated at one point she received over 60 messages from Porter, and once she ignored him the messages continued.</p>
<p><strong>Mets owner Steve Cohen</strong> wasted little time, 12 hours approximately, to fire the 41-year-old former GM. Cohen released a statement stating: <em>“I spoke about the importance of integrity and I meant it. There should be zero tolerance for this type of behavior.”</em> It was a promise Cohen made to fans when he bought the team in November to bring back accountability and integrity to the <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/sports/top-25-new-york-sports-teams-with-most-fans-20200429-0003.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Mets</a>.</p>

<p>It’s well known that the Mets also want to sign <strong>George Springer</strong>. Then again, LeMahieu would be a better positional fit and could cost them around $60 million less, which is huge considering they’re looking to stay under the luxury tax threshold:</p>
<p><em><strong>“LeMahieu won’t be cheap, but he’ll be a lot cheaper than Springer!</strong> Fewer years, less money, and exactly in line with Cohen’s desire to bring a World Series to Queens within the next 3-5 years. LeMahieu’s likely looking at a four-year deal right now, but he’s vying for that fifth year. The Mets swooping in here to give him a five-year, $110 million deal really isn’t all that crazy,</em>” it concluded.</p>
<p>Whether it’s LeMahieu or Springer, the Mets are likely going to have to make a couple of trades to clear some cap space, but according to the report, staying in New York City would be a priority for DJ, <strong>regardless of if he’s playing at Queens or in the Bronx.</strong></p>
