Cam Ward didn’t have the easiest path to the NFL, but the things he endured during his journey made him the player and person he is right now. The 2025 No. 1 overall pick received only one college offer coming out of high school.



He took it and joined the University of Incarnate Word (UIW). Ward joined an FCS school and tried to build from that. The playmaker was welcomed with open arms by the school, and his former coach, Eric Morris, knew he had something special in the future Miami Hurricane.&nbsp;



In two seasons with UIW, Ward went 567 of 893 for 6,908 yards and 71 touchdowns with 14 interceptions. After two seasons in Texas, he transferred to the Washington State Cougars, where he played two more campaigns before joining the Hurricanes.&nbsp;

“I walked down and Cam’s taking a little three step drop as he warms up and the ball is just spinning out there like none other,” Morris said. “The pop that he had, the rotation that he had it was something, when you see a talent like that, and I had been around Patrick Mahomes for the previous three or four years, so it’s not like I didn’t know it when I saw it.”



“Right off the bat it jumps out and I’m following him around the rest of practice… I’ll never forget the coaches looking at each other as Cam knocks out these three throws. Like, ‘who the heck is this kid, why is he here and why did we not know about him?’ The talent was there,” he added.

Freeling has started in 16 college games (12 this season), meaning he might have to sit and learn behind Moses before he takes over at right tackle. He helped the Georgia Bulldogs to an 11-1 record while being named to the All-SEC third team.&nbsp;

“The way the schedule lies, I can see the Seahawks being in the driver’s seat with two weeks to go and then blowing it on the road in Weeks 17 and 18. That said, this is a genuine three-way toss-up. “Nobody here is good, but the Bucs win out in terms of the current loss column as well as overall talent and experience,” Gagnon wrote. “They should be able to finally put the Panthers away with two head-to-head matchups in the final three weeks of the season, and outside of that, they face three losing teams in New Orleans, Atlanta and Miami. They’ll be fine.”



“Each of Carolina’s last six wins has come by one score (five of them by a field goal), but there’s a good chance a team that is realistically mediocre on both sides of the ball finally hits a wall with Tampa Bay, Seattle, Tampa Bay in Weeks 16, 17 and 18, respectively,” he added.



After returning from the bye week, they will clash with the New Orleans Saints, the Buccaneers twice, and the Seattle Seahawks. It’s easy to see why Gagnon doesn’t have hope for the Panthers.&nbsp;

Running back Bijan Robinson ran for 142 yards and one touchdown, while catching five passes for 51 yards. As talented as they are, the Falcons continue to struggle this season, but their head coach is ready to protect them against anything.&nbsp;

Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Raheem Morris explained that he’s always willing to “take bullets” for his players.&nbsp;

We’re entertainers, and our job is to go entertain. But at the same time, finger-pointing and absolutely being honest with each other are two different things. I’ll always be honest, but I’m never going to point fingers.”&nbsp;
