We had a great rapport, friendship. I’m happy for him, but we’ll blitz him this week.”

And you talk about a one-two punch of Jahmyr Gibbs and Derrick Henry at the time, that would have been a problem.”



Gibbs was instead selected by the Detroit Lions with the No. 12 overall pick. The running back is one of the best in the league at this moment, creating a terrific duo with veteran David Montgomery.&nbsp;

“I broke my finger like a couple weeks ago,” Diggs told reporters. “So, I was just telling (Drake Maye), ‘Hey, I love the way you throw the ball.’ I really appreciate it. Just because he has that touch.”



The Patriots will try to improve to 10-2 with a win on Sunday. They are looking great on the field, and the chemistry continues to build, especially between their offensive stars.&nbsp;

When asked about Diggs’ injury, Maye didn’t miss his chance to playfully diss his teammate, calling him “dramatic” for the way he reacts whenever he gets hit.&nbsp;

“Stef’s probably dramatic,” Maye said with a smirk. “Every time he gets hit he lays on the ground and acts like he just got hit by an 18-wheeler or something. So he’s — No, he’s awesome. I think just try to throw a catchable ball. That goes with being accurate. He’s (Diggs) awesome. He’s got great hands, one of the best hands I’ve seen. He’s effortless catching it. When it gets cold out, he likes catching more with his body. But when the lights are on he’s got one of the best games in the league.”



New England has become one of the biggest stories of the season, and if they continue to play this way, the rest of the AFC will have issues moving past them.&nbsp;

Murray has made the playoffs only once during his seven-year tenure with the Cardinals. Some have speculated about the end of his stint, and one team might have set its sights on the former No. 1 overall pick.

Dan Graziano of ESPN wrote on Wednesday that the Jets plan to continue starting Tyrod Taylor for the remainder of the season. After that, they will try to find alternatives, whether via the draft or by landing a veteran, mentioning Murray directly.

“The move is not expected to be temporary,” Graziano wrote. “Unless Taylor gets injured (which he has some history of doing), I don’t get the sense the Jets will go back to Fields this season. And there will certainly be a new quarterback in New York next year, whether it’s via the draft or a veteran outside solution such as Kyler Murray. The Jets owe Fields $10 million in guaranteed salary next year and will take a $22 million dead-money cap hit for 2026 when they inevitably release him in the offseason. Add that to the $35 million dead-money hit they already have on their 2026 cap for Rodgers, and that’ll make $57 million in 2026 cap charges for quarterbacks no longer on the roster. Not ideal.”



New York has won only two games this season. They have been competitive, but have failed to secure wins. Justin Fields was deemed the right guy for Aaron Glenn’s project at MetLife Stadium, but the experiment didn’t work out. A change of air could benefit Murray, but this appears to be just speculation.&nbsp;

“Man, at least from Cam, he’s probably said enough,” Shough said. “He freakin’ hates them. I’m obviously excited to get on it. I’m obviously new to the rivalry. But, I can feel it, though. It feels a little bit different, for sure. And I think that’s a good thing. I think everyone has rivals and you don’t change your process, but you change the emotion of the city. 



There’s a reactionary component to everyone in the city and I think you want to go out and play harder. Everybody I saw was like ‘Great job … go beat Atlanta next week, no one really cares about anything else.’ I like it because that’s who we’re playing next and that’s who we’ve got to beat. Obviously, you sense that for sure, and we’re going to do everything we can.”



Shough has played four games since taking over from Spencer Rattler. He has gone 51 of 83 for 586 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.&nbsp;

“You look at a game and you look at something and you’re right there,” McCoy said. “You have to find a way to make those plays to get up 10 or get the big stop on third down so you get that opportunity to win it. You watch every game and you look at it, there’s certain games where we were right there. You’ve got to be more consistent and make the plays that present themselves so you can win those games.”



That is what drove them to their first and only win of the season, in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. They have seven more games to play to finish the campaign on a strong note, but they can’t afford to make mistakes when it matters the most.&nbsp;
