One cannot talk about <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball </a>without talking about the UConn Huskies. Whether it’s the men’s or women’s team, the Huskies have a long history of success.



A lot of that has had to do with coach Geno Auriemma. He’s been in charge of the program for four decades, and as such, he’s coached and mentored his fair share of young women.



That’s why he couldn’t agree more when he was asked whether young stars of the game, such as Paige Bueckers, have a responsibility to be positive role models for the youth.

You might not have my talent, but it’s possible for you to get these things done that I’m getting done. It’s not limited by your talent or your size or your speed,” the coach said. “It’s only limited by you might not being able to get to Paige Bueckers level, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a school somewhere in America that you could play at and be really good at. So, there are more kids watching Paige play that’ll never play at this level, and they need to understand that there’s a level for them too.”</blockquote>

College basketball stars have become more popular during the NIL era. As such, what they do off the court will start being as important as what they do on the hardwood.

The Duke Blue Devils needed <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/cooper-flagg" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cooper Flagg </a>on Tuesday, but it seemed like he was going to sit for a while. He got into foul trouble with two quick fouls in the win vs. Virginia Tech.



Flagg was called for his second foul with 12:50 minutes left to play in the first half. Needless to say, coach Jon Scheyer was far from pleased with that, but he still trusted him to stay on the floor.



He ended up paying him back by scoring 24 points on 9-of-14 from the floor and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. Eventually, the Blue Devils won 88-65, taking their record to 11-2 (3-0 in the ACC). Even so, Scheyer didn’t let him off the hook.

Even so, the third-year coach also tipped his hat to his great player, especially since he continued to play strong defense even after being called for his second foul:

Clearly, it worked, as his team was back on its feet to get the best out of a ranked opponent like Ole Miss. They’ve already beaten UConn, Michigan State, Missouri, and Clemson as well.

Needless to say, this was his best performance of the season yet, which is a lot to say. However, instead of taking all the credit, he shouted out to Bailey and his teammates for the win.

This was the first triple-double since 1983, when Roy Hinson recorded one with 24 points, ten rebounds, and ten blocks. Hopefully, it won’t be long before we see another one.

Harper recorded the triple-double after grabbing his tenth board and finding Bailey for his tenth assist of the game, and both of them will most likely get some of them in the NBA one day.

Bueckers helped the Huskies reach the Final Four in April. She took a big leap after injuries threatened to derail their promising season. Unfortunately, she couldn’t get past Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

That’s because of their incredibly talented duo of Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper, both of whom are expected to be top-three picks in the upcoming edition of the NBA Draft.



They both dominated against Columbia, leading the team to a 91-64 victory in a packed arena. Moreover, with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 dimes, Harper made history by recording the first triple-double in almost 42 years for his program.

The Scarlet Knights hadn’t had a player record a triple-double since former NBA player Roy Hinson did so in 1983. With that in mind, his coach, Steve Pikiell, shared some kind words for his young star:

It hasn’t always been easy, though. Karaban knows that his coach will hold him accountable when he doesn’t perform up to his usual level, but that has only made him respect him even more:

Harper’s ties to the program run deep, as his older brother, Ron Harper Jr, was also a big star. Now, he’ll look to follow his old man’s steps and also win the ultimate glory with the pros.

It’s been an up-and-down season for UConn star Azzi Fudd. She sustained a knee injury that forced her to miss three consecutive games, and she was then thrown into the fire as a starter.

Auriemma hoped to get her back in the starting lineup for good and no more setbacks. He knows how important she is to the offense, and it might be just a matter of shaking off the rust:
