The Dallas Cowboys haven’t won the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/super-bowl">Super Bowl</a> since the 1995 season. “It’s not jealousy, but it fires you up 100%. Any competitor should, in my position as leader of the team, understand what winning means here. Not getting it done and then watching your brothers across the city go and make these things happen. I want it for them. I want it because it only raises the stakes and makes it tougher on me. And I’m up for that. Go win it. Rangers did it. Other two go do it. Put more pressure on us.”

So, with the final year of his contract looking as <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/super-bowl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Super Bowl</a>&nbsp;or bust, Prescott acknowledged he wants to stay in Dallas, but also put the pressure on Jerry Jones. If the owner doesn’t put money on the table, Dak has every option available to sign elsewhere as a free agent.



“I allow that to the business people to say what it’s worth. What they’re supposed to give a quarterback of my play, a person of my play and a leader of my play. For me, it’s about control what I can control and handle that part. The rest will take care of itself. I don’t play for money. Never have never cared for it to be honest with you.”



Of course, that last statement is surprising because Prescott could clearly reset the market for quarterbacks in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFL</a>. If the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/dallas-cowboys" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dallas Cowboys</a> want him to stay, money will indeed matter with at least $50 million per year.

Dak Prescott&nbsp;is entering the final year of his contract and Jerry Jones&nbsp;has no plans to extend the deal. No negotiations are on the horizon before the 2024 season.


 

 


Believe it or not, during OTAs, Prescott was absolutely calmed about it. “I think it depends on personal relationships and position and how much that pay can affect others. Understanding where I am, what my pay means to a team and to an organization.”

One, it’s my age and who I am, where I am in my life and I guess the fact that that first deal got done. The understanding that I have a lot of decision in this too. I have a lot of say-so, too.”

They recently picked up Micah Parsons’ fifth-year option for the 2025 season. However, he wants a raise and a new deal right now, and he’s not going to show up until he gets one.

“Parsons, the star linebacker who wants a new contract, did not attend the opening of OTAs, according to Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram,” reported ProFootballTalk.

<h2>CeeDee Lamb Is Also Absent</h2>



To make things even worse, star WR CeeDee Lamb wasn’t in attendance, either. He’s looking to get a new contract after having the best season of his career in 2023:



“Parsons joins CeeDee Lamb as key Cowboys who are not participating in OTAs as they seek new deals,” added the report. “Lamb was always expected to skip voluntary work, but the Cowboys had been hoping that Parsons would show up. Parsons’ agent said in April that his absence from voluntary work was not about his contract, but Parsons would obviously like to get a long-term deal from the Cowboys.”

“It’s still conversations,” Prescott said when asked if there was something new to tell about his contract talks with Dallas, via Patrik Walker of the team’s website. “I’m aware of everything [owner Jerry Jones] said and everything he said is dead-on — communication has been back-and-forth.”

“You’ve got to look at the landscape of the position,” Will McClay said Wednesday, per LoneStarLive.com when talking about Zeke’s role. “You know what’s playing in the league and you’re grading those guys against the [other] guys in the league, and then you’re projecting on the college side. So you look at what’s available and then you make your decisions based on that.



“Zeke is a winning, starting running back in the league,” McClay said. “So you turn on the tape, you saw him do things, running power gap schemes, running inside and outside zone, helping in pass protection — all those things to show that the ability was still there. Adding him to this roster, it adds a guy that, No. 1, loves football, that wants to win here, that wants to be here, and that adds something to the roster from a leadership standpoint, as well as an ability to play.”



<h2>Who are the Cowboys running backs?</h2>



Following the release of Tony Pollard, the Cowboys had an opening at the starting running back position. With the decision not to draft a player for the position this year, a veteran will assume Pollard’s role this season.
